    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

We found A small snake while hiking in the mountains near mammoth, Ca. My 7 yr old brought it home we are pretty sure it is a very juvenile rosy boa. It is all pink though, most of the ones we've seen have stripes, do the juveniles get their stripes later????? any care help would be appreciated also. Thanks
 
Thanks for the replys, After looking one up it is exactly a rubber boa. Are they as cool as a rosy boa, as a pet, and is the care the same.

not to cast a dark cloud on your awesome find, but you may want to check up on the legalities of capturing rubber boas in california. i'm pretty sure they are considered protected, and you may have to obtain a permit to have/catch one. i know for a fact that here in ridgecrest/kern county(you probably drove by it on the way to mammoth) you need a permit to catch and keep rosies. not to say that it is illegal to own a rubber boa, just that im not sure about catching a california native. i think i remember seeing somewhere that there was some sort of breeding thing going on a year or two ago, will have to double check on that. but anywho, WHOOOHOOO! way to go, have yet to see one out here myself! would love to see pics :yesnod:
 
wow....... Didn't even think about that. Hope my 7 year old doesn't go to snake prison. I will try to post a pic as soon as I can get one. Thanks for the info.
