Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Rowdy Kent - filenamex5100 - [email protected]

Thanks for the input, but to make sure I'm being clear, I didn't mean to drag your name into this in a way that would suggest that you might have had anything to do with the RI. Was just wondering "out loud" (so to speak) about how long Rowdy had gotten the animal before flipping it.

We all have our own opinion about flippers, but the only part of my opinion that I will share here is that anyone that sends an animal, should be able to back it up by guaranteeing it not to be sick upon arrival (at the very least). I don't care if you've had it since you produced it, or if you JUST got it.

Understood, I was just adding the info to give a timeline. When our deal was struck I was aware he was going to probably turn around and sell some and said he may keep some. I was just providing the info.

If I fail to produce albino spiders again this year I may be kicking myself for letting them go in the first place but really was hoping to hit on a male.

Thanks.

Thanks Chris. If you don't mind me asking, what was the last weight you had on her? Rowdy says he doesn't have a scale.

My ad is still out there from 2/5 - http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=225387 and that has her listed at 189 grams. Rowdy and I came to our agreement somewhere around 2/7 or 2/8 and she went out on 2/14 so while I don't have the feeding info anymore (I use cagecards which I've since tossed) I would imagine she may have eaten on Sunday 2/6. I tend to feed on the weekends and I wouldn't have fed her the following weekend as I don't normally feed too close to shipping.

She weighs 183/2 (my scale/vet scale) now and doesn't appear to have gain any weight in the last two months. I'll get another weight on her tonight but she is fully hydrated.

Rowdy,

I've decided to step up my accusations and have a couple questions for you since it's starting to appear (to me) that you sold a sick snake to me.

Why has this snake lost weight since you bought her almost two months ago if she is a healthy eater?

Why do you lock and mark you for sale ads as SOLD but this ad was deleted?

I ALWAYS tape the heat-pack to the lid, and make sure that there is some newspaper between the snake bag and pack.

Same here. The instructions on the packs actually say to do it that way; as long as you don't cover the red line, it's fine. Had the heat pack been packaged properly, I doubt it would have been an issue at all.

The bigger issue at play, IMHO, is the overall condition of the snake. Doesn't look to have been well cared-for in addition to poorly packaged all around. A snake that thin is missing more than one meal.

Glad you're taking such great care of her and she's coming around well for you.

I'm a colubrid guy, so I am not familiar with boids. With temps topping out in the 80's, is it necessary to have any heatpaks for shipping boids? That seems too warm to be using heatpaks.

Had Rowdy delivered the snakes to a main hub an hour or less before they were to be put on a plane I think a heatpack is necessary given that the belly of a plane at 35k feet is not too warm and fuzzy but instead he had them picked up and placed on a sight seeing truck to bake in the Texas sun.......you would think someone who, "has been shipping for over 10 years" and "shipped out 10k in snakes just this month" would have known better.

Rowdy ships out 10k in snakes this month and has be shipping for 10 years and YET does not own a scale........come on.

Rowdy, you don't own a scale but have the audacity to attempt to call a vet and question their medical expertise and diagnosis? Last time I checked a veterinarian is a doctor and therefore has moral, ethical, and legal obligations concerning privacy........they are not releasing patient info to anyone but the owner.

wow, this sort of stinks all over. Having bred balls before i can see the spine clearly in your pics and it does seem very listless hanging over the water bowl. You kept in contact with him through out everything and offered to send the vet bill to him. He kept saying no i will just call and find out why they prescribed that instead of this and all this other stuff. Obviously if you opened it and noticed popping and wheezing in 24 hours and the vet said it has RI it didn't get it in you care or from the over night delivery.

As with RI and has been pointed out plenty of times here obviously it had it before shipping. I the time lines are correct as to when Rowdy got the snake and sent it to you, if he is all hands on deck, he would have realized it was sick with him. Being that he will even sell it sick to someone else who wants it leaves much to be desired from any seller be they breeder or flipper.

I have flipped one or 2 of my bearded dragons but that is months after i had them in my care. Everything i have posted here i have produced, the flips were just as pets to locals here.

for him to get really defensive and want to talk to the vet is odd enough. It seems like he is curious as to why that med was given, as though the snake might have something he DIDN'T realize. RIs are fairly easy to recognize and if caught soon enough very easy to treat. Often times we had just QT'ed the snake, lowered the humidity and raised the heat, in about a month the RI was gone and came back clean from the vet. Mind you these were not sever cases and I am not saying that this is either.

As for packing, if he had been packing and shipping for as long as he said then it would have been common knowledge to tape it to the top leaving the red stripe exposed. He also seems to be blaming you for the heat pack to be on the snake. He said himself that he didn't secure it to anything so it very easily could have shifted in shipping to touch the snake. Given that he has received plenty of snakes over time he would have seen how everyone else has shipped to him.

All in all just to toss it back like this is all your mistake and recommends selling it to someone else is just plain dirty.

okay everyone... im going to try to hit on as many comments as i can recall. this is my first time reading this thread.

first off....the snake was NOT picked up. i dropped every single package off at fedex office where it sits in a air conditioned space.

second.....this package to nick was suppose to go out last thursday when i told him what the safest way to ship would be. he didnt agree and wanted to wait until i recieved brand new packing material. in my opinion....this voids any "warranty" i would have given him. had this "problem" been present if i shipped her my way, he would already have the entire vet bill covered. no questions asked.

third.....the snake WAS NOT sick, unhealthy, dehydrated, etc etc when she left here. PERIOD!! i do not have any other negative boi comments. the snake he recieved came from chris huffman....the same as the other people that i sold the rest of the balls too. even the sister to this snake was recieved by someone else who is 150% satisfied with her. i dont sell sick animals.

fourth.....i dont have a scale. im not a breeder so i dont care to have one. snakes are a hobby...not a business for me. i turned these snakes for a profit to recoop a loss from a trade with chris huffman. he was very aware that i was turning them because i clearly stated i was replacing what i traded him.

tell me this.....can a snake recieve a RI from being too warm for under 17 hours?? ive never heard of such. the day the snake arrived, nick didnt mention ANYTHING about a RI. it was the next day that he mentioned it.

ive offered three times to refund the purchase in full. i was only suggesting selling the snake to someone else if your not happy with it because i 100% know the snake is healthy. im not suggesting you pawn off a sick snake on anyone.

as for dehydration....yes iw ould assume she was dehydrated because the box you SUGGESTED she be shipped it was overkill in my opinion. the way i wanted to ship was the way she should have went but you insisted you werent in a rush and would rather have waited for a brand new shipment of boxs to arrive here.

im not splitting a vet bill with you that is bogus. the snake WAS NOT SICK. i dont know what else to offer you aside from a full refund. ive offered it many times. if your unhappy, send her back. if you claim she is sick....when you feel she is better....send her back for a refund. my intentions were never to scam you into buying a sich snake. you contacted me and offered less than i was asking. had you asked for a health guarentee, you would have recieved one! that wouldve given you exactly what im offering you know for a fourth time....a full refund.

as for deleteing the adds.....as you can see i dont use fauna religously. im sometimes its quicker just to mark an add as sold rather than delete. surely there is some sort of a trade of original add left somewhere for a mod to find. i wasnt hiding anything from you.

i wanted to add....Chris sent me some of the most healthy snakes ive ever recieved. you honestly think that i would let one of these high end snakes go down hill in a matter of a few weeks?? why is that all the other people who purchased snakes from this same group didnt experience any issues??

this to me boils down to the way Nick wanted this package sent. had he left it to me, all of this couldve been avoided.

perhaps i missed it amongst the three previous pages on this thread....did it mention that i had the box ready to go last week or did Nick leave that part out??

has anyone experienced possible altitude and geographic sudden changes combined with a styro box (basicly an oven) on a snake?? my temps here were in the 80's. this is why i told Nick that i should ship the way i wanted to ship but i left it up to him and said "its your call".

For those that don't know or are forgetfull.... Buying reptile's is scarier than a used car deal in some parking lot; proceed with massive caution!! This is typical!!

Rowdy, do you guarantee your animals to be in good health and condition when they arrive to the buyer? If you do, then have the customer ship the animal back and then issue a full refund. Blaming it on the way it was packaged is silly; you are the one that packaged it.

what the heck is that suppose to me?? im just wondering if your speaking in general or specificly because ive never made a transaction with you that i recall.

ive offered him a FULL refund 5 times and he refuses it. what else am i suppose to do?? ive already told him that. send her back and you get a full refund!!!

second.....this package to nick was suppose to go out last thursday when i told him what the safest way to ship would be. he didnt agree and wanted to wait until i recieved brand new packing material. in my opinion....this voids any "warranty" i would have given him. had this "problem" been present if i shipped her my way, he would already have the entire vet bill covered. no questions asked.

Please explain this part. What voids his "warranty"?? It sounds like you're saying that holding the snake over the weekend, and/or using a new box voided it, but I'm honestly not sure what you meant.

By the way, you should NEVER ship on a Thursday, as you risk the animal being held over the weekend if Fed Ex has a problem delivering it on Friday.

third.....the snake WAS NOT sick, unhealthy, dehydrated, etc etc when she left here. PERIOD!! i do not have any other negative boi comments. the snake he recieved came from chris huffman....the same as the other people that i sold the rest of the balls too. even the sister to this snake was recieved by someone else who is 150% satisfied with her. i dont sell sick animals.

I really don't believe that a healthy snake developed an RI during her 17 hour trip so she wasn't 100% healthy when you shipped her. And "the sister" satisfying someone else means nothing to this thread.

as for dehydration....yes iw ould assume she was dehydrated because the box you SUGGESTED she be shipped it was overkill in my opinion. the way i wanted to ship was the way she should have went but you insisted you werent in a rush and would rather have waited for a brand new shipment of boxs to arrive here.

How can you blame the BOX on her being dehydrated???

<The bolded> Because he did NOT rush you was a problem? That's a first for me! If you didn't have the proper supplies, why shouldn't he want to wait??

the reason he refuses the refund is because he knows the snake that i sent him is not sick. who here has ever had boas?? have you ever noticed that a healthy boa's body looks to have lines that are lateral?? those are muscles. not unhealthy signs. as far as the snake being placed on the water bowl....anyone can position a snake anywhere they want with a little time.
I DID NOT SEND HIM A SICK SNAKE. the snake had water the entire time up until 5 minutes prior to boxing her up.

yes i packed the snake.....but not how i adviced him it should be packed. that like buying them a gun and then not doing what the manufacturer suggests and blowing your own leg off.

Rowdy,

Exactly what would you have done differently in shipping had you "had it your way"?
What did the OP want you to differently than what you would have normally done?

i ship the way I want to ship. not how anyone else wants me to ship. this is the FIRST TIME i have EVER changed the way i ship to accomodate someones request. had i packed it the way it shouldve been packed and the way it has worked for me flawless for the last 10 years....i wouldve covered any issues that may have came up.

you can think waht you want....ive never screwed anyone and i have plenty of boi feedbacks that reflect that.

since everyone here seems to have made up there mind on who and what to believe (i couldnt care less either way to be honest), what do you experts advice i do for Nick aside from going all the way to most respectful thing to do in refunding his money in full??

anyone have ideas?? this is getting out of hand for no reason. the last thing he told me on my phone was yesterday after noon "thanks anyways for the transaction, she is a lovely snake". now how does one say that if they arent happy??

why was i not informed that he had to place her on the water bowl for drinking?? why was i not informed that she had a supposed RI until day two?? he contacted me before he even opened the box and said "shes's here, about to open". why was i not informed right away about these issues???

my way of shipping given the weather condition on both of our ends was this:

7x7x8 box not insulated but with a heat pack. that would allow ambiant heat but not act as an oven!! ive shipped this way MANY time for both snakes, chameleons, scorpions, lizards, etc etc. NEVER have i had an issue. i adviced him BEFORE i shipped that a styro box with heat was in my opinion to much. he insisted it was okay....so thats how i shipped....per his instructions. is the customer not always right??

dont get wrong now....when the temps are cooler or down right cold (sometimes i wont ship at all if its really cold or hot), i packed with styro boxs and heat or cool packs.
