    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Do you realize that shipping without a styrofoam box is WRONG on SO MANY levels??!!!!!!:bandhead0 How would that possibly have made this situation better? A styrofoam box does NOT act like an oven and one should ALWAYS be used when shipping live snakes!
 
what the heck is that suppose to me?? im just wondering if your speaking in general or specificly because ive never made a transaction with you that i recall.

It's a simple question. Do you guarantee the health of your reptiles? If you do, then this is an easy problem to solve. You apologize, issue a full refund, and have him ship the snake back. Placing the blame on your customer is really not cool.
 
ive offered him a FULL refund 5 times and he refuses it. what else am i suppose to do?? ive already told him that. send her back and you get a full refund!!!

Ok, that's great. I saw the stuff you typed about "voided warranties" and it looked as if you were not willing to guarantee the snakes health. I'm glad you will be doing the right thing by taking the snake back and refunding the money.
 
how does a styro box not act like an oven?? huh??
its used to keep extreme temps from getting inside of the package. correct?? so....if you add heat to the inside of the box...it builds up and remains inside the box. what do you think a beer cooler does?? its keeps your drinks cold for a long time...hence maintaining the temps inside the cooler. a coller is made of styrofoam lined with pvc. i tape the ever living crap out of my boxs when i ship. long ways, side ways, around the entire package to hold the tape on with more tape. i know how to pack. ive sent alot of packages with no issues.

if someone cant lend some helpful info as to how Nick should be handled, im going to unsubscribe to this thread and be done with it. im not here to bicker and argue with anyone. you all seem to have the "facts" and know whos side your own. im not just gonna sit here and keep taking it. theres a reason my other feedback is positive. if it were negative...i could understand your points.
 
Wait a minute... if the customer is really refusing to send the snake back for a full refund, and he chooses to keep it, then that's on him. Sorry Rowdy, I missed that at first.

Exactly!! If you're really willing to issue a refund, why wouldn't you just apologize that there was a problem, offer the refund and the situation would be over. I can't say I blame Nick if he doesn't feel safe taking that route after you got defensive from the get-go and started blaming him and his shipping ideas.

ive dealt with you personally at the local shows. im assuring you everyone else that no ill intention were meant in this transaction. like i said many times.....ive told him 5 times already that i will issue a FULL refund ($865 includeing shipping) if he sends the snake back. if she does have a RI ill be stuck with the bill because she DID NOT have one when she left here. PERIOD!!! if i have to recieve a sick snake back, in my opinion, im the one getting screwed. but thats fine with me. no problem with that.
im not out to prove anything to anyone on this website. my life doesnt depend on selling snakes. i know when she left here, she left in tip top shape or she wouldnt have left at all.

i dont know how many times i have to say this. ive offered him a refund 5 times!! all he has to do is send the snake back. he paid via paypal. paypal will issues him a refund upon return of the snake if i were to fail to do so. and by the way....paypal suspended my personal/gift account activity because of this transaction being "personal". no relevance....just thought id add that.

im not waiting for him to make up his mind if he is sending her back or not. either he is happy or not happy. like i said....the last thing he told me yesterday was she was a lovely snake. why in the world would he tell me that if there is such an issue. that was even after the fact he said he went to the vet.
 
I will say this....I would NEVER ship a snake in anything but an insulated styro box, and I decide if it needs a heatpak or coldpak. If I am doing the shipping and making the guarantees, you can bet I ship it MY way.

What I do't understand, is why would rowdy want to pay to have the snake shipped abck and issue a refund to the buyer, when the buyer is just asking for half of a smaller vet bill?? It would be cheaper and easier all around for all parties involved. Just my 2 cents. good luck to you both.
 
Well, i have bred balls and boas, usually the spine won't stick out like that if it is well hydrated and well fed. As for the styro besides insulation it is also supposed reinforce the box. If I remember correctly, when they tested my box they put 40lbs of pressure on it to make sure the way i packaged it holds. They also dropped it from what, 15ft or so again to make sure that the box isn't crushed or damaged protecting the reptile in side.

The vet himself said that the snake has RI, not the buyer pulling things out of his @ss.

Who would want to send a snake back that is on meds and put it through that stress again that can lead to a further decline?
 
:iagree: I think shipping any snake in an uninsulated box would be against FedEx's shipping policy? I also think taping the heat pack to the lid is part of snake shipping 101? I shipped a snake a few months ago with a 30 hour heat pack and put an accurite thermostat in the box to measure the high and low temps, damned if FedEx didn't misplace the box for 48 hours. When she arrived the max temp was 105 and low was 55. The snake was fine but I already offered to pay for a vet visit before they even opened the box. What's $40 to make your buyer happy? He doesn't want a full refund he oviousally loves the snake and wants to save her life? I have also bought a snake and didn't notice it had an RI until a day later. Either way I hope she pulls through she is definetely in good hands!
 
Exactly what I was thinking my-self. Did this dude send a uninsulated box to fedex to be checked and get certified?! Also I don't get the full refund deal.... Rowdy if you want to make your customer happy why don't you PAY HALF OF HIS VET BILL!!!!! He is asking for $40 dollars! Your offering to refund over 800. I don't see what $40 bucks will make or break you. Just my .02....
 
In the posted texts you did not recommend shipping a certain way. You said "I don't see an issue either way". I think you should offer to pay the full vet bill. I don't think you're a bad guy, you just have a little bit to learn about shipping.
 
Rowdy, I have been mind-fudged by your responses here. Every question you have asked and every word exchanged between us is here... in this thread. We haven't even spoke on the phone so if you go back and read again, YOU asked me for my opinion on how to ship and yet YOU STILL did not follow my advice about taping the heat pack. Go ahead read it... at one point you even suggested using TWO heat packs.

second.....this package to nick was suppose to go out last thursday when i told him what the safest way to ship would be. he didnt agree and wanted to wait until i recieved brand new packing material. in my opinion....this voids any "warranty" i would have given him. had this "problem" been present if i shipped her my way, he would already have the entire vet bill covered. no questions asked.

If this was the case, and my warranty was voided before you sent the snake, why didn't you tell me? Kinda something important to pass on, right?


third.....the snake WAS NOT sick, unhealthy, dehydrated, etc etc when she left here. PERIOD!! i do not have any other negative boi comments. the snake he recieved came from chris huffman....the same as the other people that i sold the rest of the balls too. even the sister to this snake was recieved by someone else who is 150% satisfied with her. i dont sell sick animals.

Chris sold you the snake @ 189g and you sent it to me at 183g. LOOK AT THE PICTURES!


fourth.....i dont have a scale. im not a breeder so i dont care to have one. snakes are a hobby...not a business for me. i turned these snakes for a profit to recoop a loss from a trade with chris huffman. he was very aware that i was turning them because i clearly stated i was replacing what i traded him.

Normally I don't like calling people a liar, but when you use the word "honestly" in a manner that isn't so honest, then you are a liar.

tell me this.....can a snake recieve a RI from being too warm for under 17 hours?? ive never heard of such. the day the snake arrived, nick didnt mention ANYTHING about a RI. it was the next day that he mentioned it.

I didn't tell you that day because I wasn't sure having never dealt with a sick snake. The next day I told you "I think she has an RI" and was going to get her checked out to make sure. Would you really have taken it well, if I told you that same day, that she had an RI without knowing what the hell I'm talking about?


ive offered three times to refund the purchase in full. i was only suggesting selling the snake to someone else if your not happy with it because i 100% know the snake is healthy. im not suggesting you pawn off a sick snake on anyone.

Ok, so in theory, if I send her back when she is better, will I be compensated for my vet bill in full since I am taking care of your snake? Seems counter-productive from my first resolution.


the reason he refuses the refund is because he knows the snake that i sent him is not sick. who here has ever had boas?? have you ever noticed that a healthy boa's body looks to have lines that are lateral?? those are muscles. not unhealthy signs. as far as the snake being placed on the water bowl....anyone can position a snake anywhere they want with a little time.
I DID NOT SEND HIM A SICK SNAKE. the snake had water the entire time up until 5 minutes prior to boxing her up.

I AM REFUSING MY "WARRANTY" and would like to state again, this thread is not about compensation, it's about Rowdys practices and the way you will respond if your snakes gets sick in transit, the way you treat your customers, lay blame on them, and call them a liar. This is informational.

yes i packed the snake.....but not how i adviced him it should be packed. that like buying them a gun and then not doing what the manufacturer suggests and blowing your own leg off.

If you did not feel safe, then why ship? Why not cancel the payment? Where did I twist your arm or even tell you that's how I want it done? This is a cop out and a lame one at that.
 
Also for those that care, she is doing a little better and seems more energetic. She got her second dose yesterday. Poor girl, I hate putting a tube in her mouth so soon after being shipped. She went #1 and #2 so she dropped more weight. I didn't get to weigh her but I would guess at least another 5 grams were lost upon going empty.
