• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I would like to take this opportunity to relate my experience with Rowdy Kent of Metroplex Serpent Center.

Just today I closed a transaction between us. I purchased a Champagne Ball Python from Rowdy and just received it.

I had asked Rowdy prior to the sale for some additional photos which he gladly provided. His communications were very good as well as his eagerness to work with me on the sale.

The Champagne ended up being prettier than the photos he sent, which is always a good thing and not a knock on his photography ability.

All in all it was very comforting to deal with an internet sale via the classifieds and get exactly what you were expecting.

I would gladly deal with Rowdy again in the future.

jason, you can believe what ever you want. so can anyone else. that topic on south texas reptiles was started years ago by a individual here locally (DFW, TX) who "ASSUMES" i purchased monitor lizards at a local show from some craig guy. which of course, is 150% wrong. they were actually hand picked from US Global Exotics by me in person from Jason Shaw directly. that doesnt look so good now either since us global got shut down. point being...people make stuff up. its funny how all the postings are from the local area. wouldnt you think IF i were gonna sell sick animals, id do it over states lines rather than in person?? surely you must agree with that. i have nothing but great feedback. many of which arent posted here or anywhere.
alot of craigslist users are broke and have little to nothing to trade. in turn, they get all bent out of shape when i offer to sell an animal that they cant afford. they try to bash me publicly in an effort to hault me selling to anyone. the infamous "if i cant have it, you cant have it". it doesnt effect me at all either way. notice that the thread your linked above doesnt list my actual add on craigslist?? i wonder why?!?! because people start lies. $25 for a CB savanah monitor is reasonable here locally. for more than one reason....1) you cant barely get them here locally. 2) if you can, it'll be at petsmart for $90.

for reasons like the one you posted above, i no longer offer deals to anyone local. its simply not worth having to deal with the people who gets upset when they cant have for free what they want. im over it. im not mad at you for posting. everyone is entitled to their own opinion. i just wish people, includeing you, would know you facts 100% prior to putting someone on the chopping block for hear say.

think about it....you just posted in a thread about a man who purchased a $3500 snake (he paid less though) who was more happy with it than prior pictures showed. why would you all of a sudden come and try to ruin it over something you only heard someone else say??

im not worried about it at all. i wrote that responce to clear my name for any future dealings when people see this thread. people jump to conclusion....like you did. these threads are permanant. think about things before you write them.

All I was doing was giving my opinion of a transaction I had with Mr. Kent. I stated the truth of what happened and am still pleased with the transaction I would not "change my mind" as you would insinuate I do.

I spent a lot of money on a snake and am pleased with my transaction. But it really wouldn't matter what the amount I spent if I was not pleased. I have been ripped off plenty of times as a lot of people have been and was kind of "gun shy" transfering that kind of money to someone I didn't know nor without seeing the animal in person at an Expo for example.

I stated again. Mr. Kent was very coorporative, his communication was constant- even through the weekend, he gave me his phone number, he took additional photographs at my request and sent me a snake that is in my opinion far superior than what his pictures depicted, and it arrived exactly when he said it would.

Why would I not say I was pleased with that? Heck wouldn't you if you were in the same shoes?

If I was making an inquiry as to what kind of guy he was then I would appreciate your input. But I'm not.

Whether or not you appreciate my input is irrelavent.......you chose to inform this community of a good transaction and I chose to bring to light a questionable one.
 
everone will agree that your are entitled to your opinion. that being said...if you read the rules for posting in the BOI, the postings must be based on facts. your posting is based on someone elses lies.
like kevin said....had this thread been opened as a means to question me, or in other words ask you opinion, your reply MAY have been semi justifiable. BUT since he was posting about a transaction between he and i that has already been completed and he was posting his honest results, your posting wasnt warranted. all you did was stur up problems that never even existed and you did this by mere ignorance. im not calling names or anything but i think your known as what most people call a troll. no offense at all.
after all, the title os this thread was a "good guy" posting. if youve never personally made a transaction with me, the title of this thread really didnt warrant a input like yours.

Kevin, im done with all this. your were a pleasure to deal with and im glad your satisfied. i look forward to hearing from you in the future. im sorry your having to post in this thread again over nonsence. this is why i dont get involved with the BOI often...it always goes in a bad directions even if the intentions were good ones. take care buddy.
 
I posted based on the "fact" I found it through a Google search, you should be more worried about that than throwing childish name calling insults. Are your posts indicative of how you are going to react when something does not go your way?
 
Dude why are you stirring up crap on every thread you come across? Rowdy is a stand up dude. What you find on Craigslist or Google isn't a fact...the man explained his side of the story.

Couple his side with the FACT that two out of the three people responding in this thread have had awesome transactions with him and you have a witch hunt. His post is indicative of a person responding to someone taking shots at them when they havent done anything wrong.
