    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Rules Clarification Requested

Seems the Jim's have misunderstood.. We can only hit a member once a day but could hit every member if so inclined in a day or 24 hour period..Randy

John, if I gave the impression that I was questioning your integrity or impartiality, or that of Dr. Jay, it was not my intent.

Just curious, but if I were to say in a post that any of the current presidential candidates is an "idiot", can you tell me if that would also be a violation, and why ?

My point is that you, Rich, Dr. Jay, etc, have an obligation that comes with any disciplinary action. That is to be sure that those you mind understand to a reasonable degree where the line is drawn. While you have told us here that it was "derogatory", and "wrong to say", I have asked you to connect that, to the best of your ability, to the rule you chose to site.

Rich has stated specifically in the rules for posting on the BOI that it is everyone's responsibility to read them and to know them. He has also stated that it is YOUR call in threads, but certainly has not indicated in the rules, the "Must Read", that the rule is as broad as you have made it. Not even hinted at there. At a minimum, if your interpretation and ding has any merit, then the rule and explanation are very very poorly written.

Ohhhhhhhhh.......seems I misunderstood that totally as well......I thought it was 1 "ding" per day PERIOD. Hm.

That does put a bit of a different light on some things.
 
This chart was posted in another thread and may clear up some misconceptions about the issuance of warning points.

Benefactor and Endowment members can only issue one warning point per day to the same member. They can only issue 10 TOTAL warning points per day, or in other words, warning points to ONLY 10 members per day.

This was done as a safeguard against possible abuse from someone just going bonkers. I CAN clean up such a mess afterwards, but a stitch in time saves nine........... :D

It would seem that with nary 10-15 minutes per day, for seven days, you could clean up all name calling in the BOI ! I am not against such, although I see it frought with problems as indicated in its current form. Following the standard set by your example with Alec, do you think others will also see the clear rules violation they committed ? Even the gray area ? Won't take long to find out !

That 10 round magazine does make many things different. It is my belief that most members here thought it was single shot with no reloading for 24 hours.

And it is my belief that most members don't even know of the change as a whole. :shrug01:
I see people on here going about their business, checking the BOI ect. I just don't see a massive amount of people leaving because of this, I do not see fauna just falling apart, nothing of the sort. A few people have said fauna is falling apart for years now and, well. geez, everytime I come here I see it is still running and growing.

I took no offence there man, just giving my point and how I see things :)
I also will continue to do as I am, much to the chagrin of others.
grey areas are just that grey areas and if people continue to venture into the twilight zone [grey areas] they will get warned or dinged. I firmly believe that there is right and wrong period. There is no middle line here. I do feel Rich's pain in what he was trying to install from the beginning. I have good shoulders and will continue down the path I have chosen for this site.
This is not kingsnake, arachnoboards or petbugs....This is faunaclassifieds ;)
