    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Don't sweat the whole quote thing, it's nice, but we understand.  Someone needs to inform Mr. Ryan Trude of the BOI and encourage him to post here to tell his side of this situation.  The e-mail states that Ben will have his snakes by the end of the week.  I think Mr. Trude has some splaining to do.
 
You can see how he responded to my E-mail about the BOI posting about him. Not only is he not civil but with him trying to sell those Rosies while saying he's never burned anybody leaves me questioning his intentions towards Ben.


Oh, and for you Ryan since I know you are reading this, Ben is someone who has helped me via the internet with information on Herp related subjects. He has helped quite a few people out over time and it's very rare for him to warn people away from anything/anyone. Like I said in my E-mail to you, you either have a misunderstanding or are stealing with Ben. Your reply to me told me all I need to know about you and how you do business.

UPDATE :

I still havent heard from Ryan but Chris says he has talked to
him and that he said he is sending me my snakes sometime.
I asked Chris to tell him to please contact me to let me know
what is going on but he hasnt. Soon as I get further info
I'll update again. Thanks to EVERYONE for their assistance,

When he says that he's sending you "your" snakes, does he mean your rosies, or the ones for which you originally traded?  Just curious.  I'd want the rosies back, myself!

Yep, I told him and told Chris to tell him to send the Rosies.
Chris asked me if I'd take the candoia if Ryan paid for the
shipping but I told Chris to tell Ryan to send my Rosies back
to me. Just have to see what happens I guess.

Why is it the ones that are always being questioned about shady business practices the ones always quickest to throw around the word "lawsuit?"  And where are they digging up all these "lawyers" that tell them they can sue anyone and everyone that doesn't give them glowing reviews?  

And Ryan, when you show that it ISN'T true that you have been holding Ben's property without payment, then possibly you might have a case.  However, due to your "transportation/living situations" you are holding AND attempting to sell animals that you have no legal or moral right to.  And now instead of you claiming they were 2.1 Rosy Boas they are now 3 juvenile males.  How convenient.  If you are so unstatisfied with them, why not simply send them back to Ben per his request?  In your e-mail you said you would send him the Candoia, but has he not expressed it to you on more than one occasion now that he wants HIS Rosy Boas back instead?  If you feel so slighted, why send him the Candoia instead of simply sending him his "defective" Rosies back?  I know if I received 3 missexed snakes in trade and was THAT unhappy about it they would be sent back to their owner.  Oh wait, maybe you can't because you have already sold them?  That is not fact, only opinion(which last I checked was still legal to voice without threat of lawsuit)based on the actions that have been observed thus far.  You just seem insistant on sending the Candoia that Ben is no longer interested in.  He just wants his snakes back and you say you aren't happy because they are missexed.  What's the problem with sending the Rosies back?  
And repeating myself again, but if you're living situation is THAT bad you can't return his snakes in a timely manner, you perhaps need to get out of the herp business until you are back on your feet.

I'm not a legal expert, but I believe Ryan has it backwards. He has to arrange to have papers served on the defendant where the defendant lives. You can't just go into court and say "I want to bring legal action against this person", and when they don't show up, you win the case. Also, this would be a civil case, and not a criminal case. There wouldn't be any fines. The most that there would be would be a judgement against the defendant that he would have to pay to the plaintiff. And this would be after determining that the defendant caused a financial loss to the plaintiff by his "slander", and then quantitating the loss. After reviewing the "slanderous" statements in this situation, I don't think a judge would stop laughing long enough to proceed with this case.
 Of course this is just my opinion, and if you're not entertained by it, at least I am!
 I agree with you Rob. It seems that the people the most in the wrong are the first ones to cry foul and threaten to sue. Why is that????!!!!

thanks for bringing that up, it was another point I forgot to mention.  All of the people in the wrong claim to be due to housing/transportation/Jimmy John-John ate my shoes/whatever, but always can scrounge up enough for legal council to sue people online?  How does that work?

Also, Ryan, it is obvious that you have come here due to your BRILLIANT post directly below this one(again, BRILLIANT), but I will ask again, why are you still adamant about sending Ben those Candoia when he has said he just wants his Rosy Boas back?  Sold them already and CAN'T send them back to Ben???  And Ben, if Ryan DOES send you the Candoia, judged on his character so far shown, have plenty of frogs handy because some strange feeling says they aren't gonna be feeding on rodents yet, but I could be wrong.  

I really dislike adding people to my Never Do Business With list, but you have earned yourself a spot on it Ryan Trude.

Despite the the headache of dealing with this guy practically for Ben and  getting these vulgar responses to my E-mail I'm also grateful to Ben for giving us the "heads up". Its very rare for Ben to say anything negative which was another reason I looked into it, that and he's helped me before.

WOW !!!!!!

This guy is something else. I logged on this morning to find the
same threats of lawsuits that Ralph had. And in Ryans email to
me last night he said he tried to ship yesterday (candoia) but
that ups wouldnt let him "bill to reciever". He said he is sending
the candoia, not the rosies. Dont know exactly why but then
again there are alot of things about this guy that are boggling
my mind! He said he was going to come here to post right after emailing me but I guess he changed his mind, wonder why? Anyone have any suggestions on how else to handle
this guy ??

Well, if you ask me he won't send you the Rosies back because he has already sold them and therefore CAN'T return them to you.  But that's just my opinion.  And as far as I know, you should be able to send a package "bill to receiver" at any UPS location.  But of course that is assuming that you have a UPS account that can be billed.  My suggestion would be to tell him to go ahead and ship the snakes at HIS cost, and upon receipt of them in good condition, you will reimburse his shipping expense.  
Sorry to see this happen to you Ben, but this guy has apparently been out to bend you over from the get go.  Apparently your Rosies were good enough for him to get, hold and feed for a while, and sell.  But as I said, based on his actions in this situation thus far, be prepared to deal with some non-feeding WC Candoia.  And I am sure he is more than happy to receive 3 nice Rosies from you that he could sell for what, $100/ea(think that is what adult Rosies go for right?)in trade for a couple of Candoia that he likely paid somewhere between $25-50/ea from a wholesaler.  

I hope that in the end you get the Candoia and are happy with them.
 
Don't know if I have an idea how to handle him, but here is my two cents worth.  I would like to sue a man who ripped me off in Alaska.  ~ I commisioned some non-reptile related items (hand forged swords) over 2 years ago and he is STILL trying to finish them!~ and I spoke to a lawyer.  Now this is FREE legal advise I got, but my understanding is that I can sue this fellow in small claims if I like, but if I do I must return to Alaska for the hearing. (AND unfortunatly this fellow is also a friend of my husbands, and my husband actually beleives I will get those swords someday&#33<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>
