• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

And last is where I paid Markus through Western Union. I had not spent 1 penny until they were in my possession. If that doesn't speak volumes about Markus I don't know what does. So anyone that has reservations about a future transaction with Markus then consult him directly.

Enough with the melodramatics! I didn't ask for all the details. Not one person here including myself has accused you of anything. Unless you were sent animals without documentation that you van show the feds if they ever show up at your door door, you're fine. I just thought you'd like to show that paperwork here. My bad. Didn't mean to stress you out.

Actually that is Garrett's promise, as spelled out in the other thread. So I have to wonder, who's running the show?

I would also like to add this transaction was for 5 Varanus mertensi. I don't want to share the exact dollar amount as Markus should negotiate every deal he has but I can say it was several thousand dollars. So if you question Markus' honesty then I would like you to know other sellers who will send you in $10k worth of animals (as they are advertised in Fauna for sale frequently at $2k each) on your word that you will pay them when you receive and wait to receive their payment after you receive your goods.

Actually it's why I expressed strong reservations about sending the money or a portion of it at first.

The BOI can be very beneficial if used correctly. It caused me to be a bit more reserved with the transaction with Markus being the exporter and Garrett being the receiver then re-shipper.

So I can say it did help me in protecting myself some. Through all this it also showed me true colors of Markus and hence the reason I posted this good guy thread.

Unfortunately for Markus, anyone reading this thread will want the same arrangement if Garrett is involved. No money down opens up a window of opportunity for scammers to take advantage.

That is a very good point. I can only hope those potential buyers treat Markus honestly and I feel confident he will deliver on his end. I don't think it's reasonable for everyone to expect those conditions but I'm sure a fair common secure ground can be found.
