Hello Everyone,
As some of you may recall, I am a biologist building a research collection.
I am now working with a research group developing a system for clearing and staining specimens. This process takes soft tissues and changes the refractive index thus rendering them invisible. We are then able to highlight the desired aspects of an organism for greater study. To this end, I am looking for small animals and juveniles of any sort. Mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish and insects/arachnids are all welcome. I cannot offer clearing services yet, but hope to soon if enough test specimens come in so we can perfect the technique.
The preferred method of transporting animals like this is via priority mail, frozen.
For my research collection, I am also looking for samples of a variety of species. If you have anything that you would like to donate, please contact me. I am happy to pay for shipping and can workout purchasing truly unique or exotic specimens. That said, the budget is tight and donations are preferred.
I am also open to preserving, cleaning, and/or mounting animals for anyone who is interested. The process is fairly time consuming, but I do good work and am open to haggling. Please let me know if you have any questions or have anything to clean.
