In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Scott Bowen-Attempted Bank Deposit/ Western Union Scam

You ain't nothin but a hound dog
Cryin all the time.
You ain't nothin but a hound dog
Cryin all the time.
Well, you aint never caught a rabbit
And you ain't no friend of mine.

When they said you was high classed,
Well, that was just a lie.

Back on topic ...

"Scott Bowen-Attempted Bank Deposit/ Western Union Scam" ain't nothing but that.

Just another twist on a 15-year old internet scam by overseas users/thieves without the same language, savvy, education or logic to update their antiquated approach or to comprehend that we get it already.

Dear friends, don't let the lone troll detract or distract :)

Warning: Please get back on topic and stay there. All of you.

I'd like to add that even wire transfers can be retracted (for lack of the correct word).
I saw this scam a few years ago: a fellow agreed to sell a boat, the buyer showed up, said the money had been wired to the seller's account, seller called his bank, "yep, it's here" says the bank.
Buyer leaves with boat and notarized title, seller gloats a couple of hours then goes to bank to withdraw some/all of the $$$.
Bank says, "Sorry, that was a mistake, money was retracted an hour ago."
I'm sure there are variances on this and naysayers claim "it can't happen because of bank policy such and such" or "interstate wire transfers are traceable (of course they are) and that's not possible now" but beware. Paypal is infamous for reversing transactions, siding with buyers etc but again, be careful. If I were buying X thousand $$$ worth of animals, I'd buy a plane ticket for a face to face deal, then pay for air freight on the same plane I use for the flight home.
Yes, there are many measures to prevent such fraud, but criminals have a lot of time to work around these obstacles.

Scott please cite where you saw that wire transfers (without the permission of the recipient) are reversible.
Paypal and its policies are not equivalent to a wire transfer.

I too don't understand that..Maybe you can put a stop or hold on it like a check, but once the transaction is done, like a check, it is done...It is now that person's money in their account..

http://www.reba.net/news/wtransfer ........first site I googled......
Note use of words like "generally" and "assume". You can send funds and document it even if via screenprints, the funds CAN be recalled (the correct word) until the receiving bank accepts the funds. Here's an excerpt from the link:
"The ability of a sender to recall a wire hinges primarily on whether or not the payment order has been accepted by the receiving bank. The reason for this is that the general rule under 4A is that a cancellation order is effective as long as it is received at a time and in a manner that affords a receiving bank a reasonable opportunity to act on the cancellation order before the receiving bank accepts the order. Put another way, as long as the seller’s bank hasn’t accepted the payment order, chances are good that the buyer can reverse the wire. However, after acceptance by the seller’s bank occurs, the scales tip in favor of the seller; cancellation orders are generally ineffective. The key time for a seller therefore, is the point in time at which it’s bank accepts the payment order. " END QUOTE
A friend in the banking business said that small banks often have one person that can formally "accept" the transfer and if that person is at lunch or in a meeting, the transfer is in limbo.
Obviously Paypal is an entity and a bank wire transfer is a process/product.

So in the example of the boat, how would the bank say it's here, as in your account, then take it back out?..No one said a wire couldn't be stopped..But when it is done it is done, IE, the bank saying " yep,it's here"...Most people with common sense wouldn't do anything until money transactions are settled..

A Clayton in Sacramento, California has a f/b acc and he is from Bells texas.
Why I say this is I also got a check for more then the snake Weil Bells order and he was rushing me to give him a refund, but I told him it take 5 bis days for checks to clear. Now I only put the check in my bank thinking it was from something else not this guy order, but this guy Bells is nowhere on the check or the 2 day mail that Clayton sent me. So I am out of luck on this it looks like. Bells found me through Kingsnake, I have 3 or 4 numbers of his as he has only e-mailed me and texted me. I hope this may help ppl out here.
