Scotts Serpents
I have deliberated long and hard wether or not to post to this thread and have decided the amount of money I sent to Scott is already lost to a valuable lesson.I was in exactly the same boat as Andrew in that i did a search on Scott, and did'nt think it was THAT bad.Just like Andrew I spoke with Scott on the phone and he was able to explain things to my satisfaction. This is where we run into the problem.I spoke on the phone with Scott on Jan. 21st about the ad for the 10ft jungle carpet, and explained I would like to purchase her,if he would guarantee she was indeed a she.Scott explained to me he would except a payment plan of 60 days with 25% down, meaning $160 down with the remainder of $480 due within 60 days.I paypaled Scott $160 on Jan.24th.At this time I ran across this post from Mr.Hare and was very unhappy to notice that Scott was apparently selling me a snake over the phone on Jan 21st that had already been sold to Mr.Hare on the 20th.!I began calling Scott immediately to no avail.I then called Mr.Hare and had a brief chat with him about the whole thing.I was finally able to reach Scott at wich time he informed me that it was all Mr.hare trying to scam him.He thentold me he still had the snake held for me,that Mr.Hare was purchasing ANOTHER animal(2-10ft JCP's....WOW)and emailed me pics of the snake in question. At this point I have decided I should not post on this thread until I know how I am going to resolve this issue.Well i am not THE sharpest crayon in the box,but i am by no means the dullest either. At this point I also notice Scott has not pulled or changed the ad for a snake he has sold not once but TWICE.So now I have decided to post this and forfeit my deposit so my lesson(and that of anyone else who is thinking of dealing with this guy) only costs $160 and not $640.I am very much into carpet pythons and various morelia species and can tell you that Andrew Hare and Yasser are both VERY,VERY well respected members of the morelia enthusiasts community.I will try to attach a couple of emails between myself and Scott. In these emails myself and Scott refer to the animal as a jungle x diamond because I informed Scott that at 10ft that was most likely what it was.We were definitely speaking about the same animal Mr.Hare purchased,as the price was exactly the same and after talking to Andrew it seems we were both told the animal was produced by Don Hamper. If nothing else I hope my post saves even one person from sending Scott there hard earned money.Basically if you break it down I have not scammed technically since I did not remit the remainder of payment, but after all this who in their right mind would send Scott another $480?If you look at the dates of the emails you will see scott is selling me a snake he was paid for 2 days earlier.
Best regards
