In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Sean Trotter LST Exotics

I have. To me it's important to handle yourself as an adult regardless of what the other person does or doesn't do. How about losing the attitude and then trying to contact them to work things out.

leah,

i understank your frustration with the whole situtation that said these shipping co suck. i would be willing to bet if it were bubble wraped it still would have been broken. i have had other cages shipped and showed up 10 more damage in bubble wrap. as to the other stuff with LST i'm going threw with you and know your frustration customer service is poor. but i can't see sean sending you a damaged rack on purpose that dosen't make any sense to me.

Leah, Regardless of everything that has transpired until the point you received your rack, concentrate on the current situation.

After the message you sent about the rack the seller has stated he intends to make it right. His response is here for everyone to see. He wants to get you a rack and end this transaction. So far he seems to be handling the damage report reasonably.

If he had stated "to bad" or ignored it, I would be right there with you but so far he has responded well even with the message you sent. I have to give him credit here. Granted, This hasn't been a great transaction but the seller seems to be trying to resolve this part satisfactory.

I state that even though I disagree with some of his posts, that not so nice little quip in the emails and his little regard for this site.

I'm not discounting your dissatisfaction with how this transaction has gone on since the beginning but just suggesting how to bring it to a close.
I'm hoping you have a resolution quickly.

Also, while I understand that you are frustrated, calling people "ringers" that state something you don't agree with (particularly members that have been here a better part of a decade) isn't going to help. I think you need to breath a little before posts. He didn't state anything unreasonable to give that impression.

Good Luck!

Point well taken...and you're right, I should cool off before posting...sometimes! Sean and I both want to resolve this and that we both agree on. I will state that other than being busted in and broken in 3 areas, the rack appears nice but I will leave it "as is" until FedEx gets out here to inspect the thing. Again, after waiting for a rack that was promised to be here by 3 weeks after ordering on Oct 21, it's more than disappointing to have this happen and as I stated earlier, I had to spend another 500 on racks in November from another manufacturer that arrived in 8 days BTW to accomodate all the babies I had to house. Thanks for the advice Dennis, clearer heads do prevail. When I made the post yesterday, it was with the understanding that as per his assistant, Angela, no more communication would be made with me. So I assumed that I would be left out to dry with a busted rack, but as you all can see, that will not be the case and I'm glad Sean did indeed respond.

Wow. I don't blame you for being irate. This is ridiculous! Another cage vendor on the list (Do Not Buy From).

This doesn't make sense

I was thinking, the first time for the delay was because the tubs I wanted didn't come in. So that delayed it until November 21st at which time I was told by Sean that they had come in...then it still didn't go out for whatever reasons I haven't been told. Then I get this busted rack with the wrong tubs after he set a December 26th deadline for himself. Does this add up to anybody out there? :shrug01:

Still have not heard from FedEx, but I did contact Sean again to ask for a refund as soon as FedEx comes and gets this thing. He still won't give me one and claims to be building a lot of new baby racks over the next two weeks and will send me the first one. I was clear in the fact that I didn't want to wait for another one but that doesn't seem to matter.

I knew there was a reason for all this. Fed Ex is messing up things for Sean and making him look bad. I just got of his Face Book Page and here is what Sean has posted:

"LST Exotic Pets
Quick update. 3 of our racks have now been damaged via FEDEX so we did not ship Friday and will resume shipping Tomorrow so we can create new boxes with foam for all FEDEX shipments."

I didn't think somebody with his reputation and his military background would be playing a deception game with people. Sean keep up the good work and you and me both might want to find ourselves another shipper if Fed Ex is going to be breaking things like this. I am taking Fed Ex off my list now.

Fed Ex, like UPS hires off of the street during the holiday season to process and deliver the (extremely) high quantity of material/packages that come through at that time. It is quite common to see shipping damage from poor handling around December - January. It's something to pay attention to and remember when shipping expensive, easily damaged items.

All right here is my peace, I ordered from Sean yes it took a bit but i didnt mind waiting, i got my Rack and i must say the quality is awesome and its super thick so i cant see how you can call it a piece of crap. I understand it was broke when you got it and that sucks but it must of taking a lot of force to be broken because mine made it and was packaged the same way. I will be making another order in the future.

That's true. I had seasonal FedEx guys deliver to me this Xmas season driving rental trucks with a FedEx magnetic sign on the door. Like I said in an earlier post though, I thought the packaging was lacking with no bubble wrap (or foam) around it...just cellophane and cardboard.

I just spent 30 minutes reading over this post, 30 minutes wasted. First off if you're breeding reptiles and arent intelligent enough to build your own rack (which is a bookshelf, I made these in boy scouts, maybe 7 years old) you should just get out of the industry. Melamine is heavy, buts its cheap as hell 60$ for a 7 adults/21 hatchers and cleans easy. Check out lowes they have pieces precut make perfect sides, think 4' high and they have 10' long pieces to cut down into shelves. The wal-mart juvy/adult tubs fit PERFECTLY on the precut shelves too. Works nice but heavy as hell. I wouldnt pay that much for a rack unless some kind of freedom breeder<- my collection is no where near needing that.

Im usually a pretty bias person, though, I look at things from everyones point of view.

This is the thing about any business. I work in production as my full time and if we dont have the parts to do what we do we just dont have the parts, and theres nothing we can do (or manpower). We get backed up same as every other american company. Granted, dealing with customers directly is a skill. Which I've done also gm'ing a resturaunt. If something isnt right they will want something free. Some are more understanding than others and some are paranoid, but theres one thing to remember, we are all human and we all make mistakes, things get overlooked, forgotten about, whatever the case may be. Life isnt automated failproof computer speech and especially not in ANY ANIMAL industry, we ALL make mistakes. He is no big time corparate resturaunt where you can bitch about the food and get a free meal. I dont know what or who he is I just know hes not that. How many times did you try and contact this guy in a short time? I get serioualy pissed if my !friends! call me over and over, let alone an angry customer, angry about something you had no control of (product/manpower). Think of the man you're freaking out on too some people just cant hear it. Maybe rack builder dude should be a little more in tune with his customers so people dont go tarnishing his name all over his customer database. Im really in no ones defense here, I thought there was some kind of point to this thread.

This is just ignorant. Yes, most people are capable of building their own cages and racks but that doesn't mean they're a better reptile keeper than those who can't build their own. One skill has nothing to do with the other.

I don't want to build my own racks nor do I have the time to do it. I do have a couple of home made ones that I did years ago but I don't want to do it again and I take offense at you saying I should just build my own or get out of the industry. You don't know me or what I do on a daily basis so who are you to judge?

I tried contacting him many many times...phone calls, emails... If you had really read the whole thread you would have seen that not only was I ignored for 2 weeks by him and his assistant Angela after the rack didn't go out on the second promised date you wouldn't be so judgemental. when someone sends me an email and says the rack will be shipped on November 21, I promise...I expect it to go out on that date. I don't expect to be ignored for weeks after it doesn't.

I said what I had to say, I have my opinions. In response to guy saying about ignorance, she was complaining about waiting on a rack and I think someone posted something along the way of needing to buy another rack in the meantime? I immediatly thought to build one. It takes me 2 hours or less to make mine didnt think that being hard or time consuming at all. At the time of writing my original post in the first place I was mad because I spent brainpower reading through this dribble. Also, that was my first paragraph so on that topic is where I probably stopped reading replies and posted. I believe fine lines were crossed, by whom I dont know. Just had my point of view, as you have yours. I know how that can be is all. Im done here bash me up like the rest, I've done no harm here, bye now.

Perhaps but that is no excuse for the long wait and also sending the rack with the incorrect tubs is it?

I don't believe any of my cages was packaged that way....though I can't claim that nobody does it. Mine had corner protectors at all 8, I think there may have been a layer of cardboard top and bottom, and then shrink wrapped to beat the band. "Box" was large cardboard panel folded around. There may have been an extra layer folded over the sides - I honestly don't remember with certainty. I have 22 cages from that manufacturer - one from the first shipment arrived damaged, and was replaced promptly (actually, one other in that same shipment had a crack in the top, and I was sent a replacement for that one as well, even though I told him that I'd had to put it in use before the new ones were completed. That freebie is the reason my stacks are 7 tall). Those were 1/4 in PVC.
Racks should be more durable than cages, because the shelves add strength...but dropping one on a corner, or tossing it, can still cause breakage. I'd be more likely to blame the damage on the carrier.....but that doesn't excuse the fact that it was the wrong rack (and, given that - my jaded side can't help but wonder if you were shipped a scrapper, just to meet the final deadline. Seems like a reach, and it is NOT intended as an accusation...but the wrong rack??).

I have to comment on the condition of the rack. For the small corner to broken I would assume it was dropped, which we all know could happen from Fed Ex or UPS. The big piece that is broken seems to be in a awkward place to break from shipping, it would take force to break it where it is, just like if it was kicked, from a forklift or pallet jack.

And I have to say, that the rack is held together by screws, which would be a fast build, which could be done in a day or 2, so I don't understand the drug out time on Seans part.
