DTS herp is one of the rudest most childish breeders I have ever seen. He appals me each time I see him on the BOI. If only he would close up shop!
You may get your wish this time. He may close up shop and get jail time on top of it.DTS herp is one of the rudest most childish breeders I have ever seen. He appals me each time I see him on the BOI. If only he would close up shop!
He was mellow in that email yes but he sent me another this morning. He is terribly dislusioned. For some reason he thinks that it will get to me what he says in his emails. He sent an even ruder and longer email this time. For some reason he thanked me for posting the email. He was under some impression that it helped him some how. Just for fun lets all look at the most reicent email he sent. If for anything - laughs.Your e-mail response from dan was mellow in comparison to the many already posted by previous unsatisfied customers. I'm just surprised dan was able to spell caiman correctly.

I used paypal. I already spoke with them about it. I plan on doing so again today.Did you use a credit card to pay the paypal with? If so, you can do a chargeback on your credit card.....
"GUARANTEE: There is a live arrival guarantee on all animals when delivered on time with express service and a two-week health guarantee on captive born snakes."
Was the above posted in the ad that you purchased the caiman from?

That doesn't matter. Dan will say "There is a guarantee, on snakes. Is a caiman a snake? No, it's not you liar scammer liar idiot." So, that statement doesn't matter.

That is and has been Dan's standard guarantee for quite some time.
Note the glaring loopholes that allow him to avoid responsibility for sending mislabeled, dying, dead, missexed animals. And even if there was a problem at the time of arrival, the arrival was on schedule and it was a captive born snake, he'd just drop back and claim that it wasn't his animal and that he was merely a broker (it's happened before) so he's not giving you anything.
When a sale goes well with Dan, people get nice animals.
When a sale goes poorly with Dan, people just plain get ripped off. He's as big a responsibility ducking liar as they come.
My advice on the situation... take whatever reasonable steps you can to get your money back through sources other than Dan. If Paypal won't work with you though (and they rarely do on animal issues), then just chalk it up as a lesson learned- because trying to argue anything with Dan is just futile.
And in the future, check people out before sending them money.

I know Seamus but the "guarantee" is right there in black and white... he ONLY guarantees live arrival on that caiman. There is no health guarantee. I'm not saying it's right, hell no, but that is Dan's policy. If someone wants more than a live arrival guarantee they should shop somewhere else.
Ohyeah, no argument there. Dan didn't guarantee that animal.
I was just making a more generalized statement about the quality of the guarantee itself- it's worded in such a manner that Dan doesn't take responsibility for much of anything.
It does matter because the buyer in this case should have read those terms and decided if he wanted to take a chance on buying an animal with no health guarantee. He decided to take that chance and sadly he lost. He needs to take responsibility for that loss himself and consider it a hard lesson learned. I know most of you won't agree with me but that is how I see it. Take away everything else we've read here about Dan Scolero and focus on this transaction by itself, then perhaps you will see it as I do.
