• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Server move 08/26/2017! Followup on problems.

And ke the roller coaster has peaked and I can once again access the site through direct means.

TaDa!!!!
I wonder if Cornsnake.com will be easier to migrate because it's smaller!

This was the database error I was seeing all morning however I was able to get on now (obviously). I tried with and without the www.

Yeah, my programmer had to shut down the database engine while working on fixing the corrupted tables. And then just a few moments ago I tried to get on this site and it was down again. So were ALL of my sites on this new server. I know they were scheduled to increase the size of the /tmp folder, and that would require a reboot of the server, so maybe that was it. I sure as heck don't want to think this new server is going to have frequent intermittent outages. They will either be getting me a new box, pronto, or I will have to roll back to the old server. Again....

I think one thing I need to put on my bucket list is to take a computer, any computer, out to my informal shooting range and put a .50BMG API round right through it. Just as a symbolic gesture for all the aggravation computers have given me over my lifetime. Maybe coming to a YouTube video near you. :AR15firin

So a small update on the issue I was getting before. I now think for some reason the issue has to with Mac OS, as my Windows desktop is also working fine.

I have noticed after some attempts to get to the main page, that www.faunaclassifieds.com and faunaclassifieds.com will also result in getting the page that I attached as screenshot in my initial post, but if I go to http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/index.php the main page works.

Anyone else noting that it now takes a LONG time from when you click the "Submit Reply" button to make a post till it actually takes place and you move on to the next screen?

The server guys just made a change to one of the config files, and it seems a LOT quicker to me now. How about you? Seeing a difference yet? It dropped from 16 seconds to 2 seconds for me.

BTW, if anyone noticed a blip when the site became unavailable, the server tech guys had to restart the MySQL engine when they made the changes to the config file. Sorry, I didn't get any warning about it. Wish these guys would understand that doing shutdowns like that can corrupt database tables.

Today is the first day I've been able to get on to the site normally. For days I could only access through a link on Facebook.

Were you getting an error message, or wouldn't your device connect to the site without any sort of notice?

I couldn't go to the website directly and had to look up the the area I wanted to go to (Ex:Geckos) on google. If I went to the website directly it would say error and if you are the owner email the given email address. I was able to get on late evening yesterday.

Well that one sounds like your ISP hadn't updated their DNS info in a timely fashion and you were getting the message that gets displayed when I disabled the site on the old server.

Well, I just did a reply to a thread that took 28 seconds to complete. :ack2:

Anyone else noting slowness when making a posted reply or creating a new thread?

Even though my replies to threads were several hours ago, yes, I did notice a lag. I also had to refresh the thread each time I replied as it appeared my reply did not go through, as if I was having internet problems at my end.
