In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Today my neonate green anaconda arrived. ~400g little guy. He is supposed to be a male, but I wanted to double check myself. After doing a bit of searching on sexing greens, I found a lot of conflicting information. Some sites said spur sexing was very accurate, while other sites said this was useless till about 6ft+. Some sites mentioned probing, but nothing about expected depth, while I came across other information that said that probing greens was difficult and that they dont probe like other snakes. Could someone give me some first hand solid information based on experience for sexing a green this small? Much appreciation. :)

All male snakes will probe deeper then females, but they should give you a depth range or something if they're talking about sexing. Never kept Annies, so can't help you with probe depth. I'd say if you probed 8-12 scales, you'd have a male.

Seeing as it's a Boa, and still a neo, have you tried to palpate it? Not all together sure it works on Condas, but we can soon find out.

Place your thumb at the cloaca and put a little pressure as you slide your thumb towards the tail tip. In neonate Boas, about 8-12 scales down you can feel the "pop pop" as the hemipenes slide out from under the pressure of your thumb. You'll feel nothing on females. Tries this a few times, down the center, then a little off center as well. See if you can feel the hemipenes or not.
