WOW really neurological damage... lady this snake has done the same movements for the past 6mths. ive got video proof also! i find it very funny how alll of you think styrofoam will prevent a snake from being crushed or smashed. like i said ive shipped plenty of snakes before and never had issues. i think you may have some neurological damage yourself. your wanting something for free....i told you kathy,,pay for shipping i would refund u.. instead of being an adult about it and working it out you did nothing of the sort, you called me a liar and a theif. and now youre making a video based on assumptions its my fault this snake has some type of neurological problem. you need to get a life an move on. its been how long? the snakes are alive...i rest my case. neurological issues...i FELL OVER LAUGHING AT THIS VIDEO. Not only did you fail to package them with styrofoam (which helps maintain the integrity of the box and keep conditions inside optimal for the animals, temperature wise) you did not label it properly and you did not put it in a box that stood a better chance of being treated better than plain brown packaging. You also gave them NO protection from slamming into one another. The only cushion in that box was their own bodies. You act like you did the OP a favor with the "great" deal she just got on a bunch of injured snakes. I bet it was really worth it for all the vet. bills she is pouring into them now.

Grow up, dude. Seriously.
 
conditions dont mean anything when you dont pick the animal up ontime!! what dont you people understand! she had the snaked shipped to a hub..did not contact me apon pickup like i asked, so whos that my fault..for all i know she dropped the box! i already to you about the label...i replied to andy after he sent me an email. hes the one who was on the phone with me when the label was voided..made a new label it was shipped to the hub the correct address on the box! the fed ex guy said he would make a note also to make sure it was held at the hub. for some reason they cant find her house. i told her like i said i would refund her . takin them to the vet she obviously wants to keep them.. nothing i can do! im done responding to you small minded idiots! ban me what do i care...if i have to deal with people like you 24 7 id rather not be on here! and andy has already spoken to me about SYR. im sticking to local sales for this REASON

How ignorant can you be. The Styrofoam boxes can within stand 400lbs+ of pressure before breaking. I can stand on any of the shipping boxes i use and they wont break once. And when you PACK THEM right they dont flop around getting injured.


Hope Robyn deletes and bans you from the site. And FedEx Will more than likely not certify you either. So have fun with your illegal ways!

Dropping a Box wont harm the snake, Hell ive dropped babies day out of egg and they were fine. The damage of this snakes injuries if from your lack of knowledge in the industry. Them packages get man handled on the belts moving though the night.

And no one wants you here, you shipped snakes WRONG regardless what you think. I ship all my shipments to the hub for pickup and the customer is either there right at 8am to get it or 3-5 hours later when they get off work. Packed right wont matter how long they sit at the hub INDOORS. :angry:
 
You are sticking to local sales because you are a liability to SYR.com and the rest of us who ship responsibly and properly for the safety of the animals involved.
 
Flabbergasted.... Been following this since the beginning. Just happy the snakes now have someone who cares.

Everyone above put it clear as day, Diem and Rich put it perfect. Feel so bad for those snakes, I watched all the videos. Makes me want to go check on mine just to make sure everyone is perfect!

It is understood that Kathy will not receive any type of reimbursement from you. It's also understood that these snakes will not be back in your possession, and for that we are thankful. The purpose of the BOI is simply to inform this community of experiences when buying and selling with others here. Everything Kathy disclosed here is well organized and factual.

Bottom line... you packaged up those snakes like a 6 year old would have. I don't care if you've never had an issue, you have been extremely lucky or your buyers did not know the difference. Similar to your ignorance between right and wrong. This is especially true if you routinely throw multiple adult snakes into a large box with no packing material.

You LIED about their weights. Every one of them is smaller than you said they were. Where are the two 2500+ plus gram girls? Where is the 3000 gram girl? The four that you sent ranged from a 750 gram thin snake to a 1400 gram snake with broken ribs and a head twitch...

You DID NOT DISCLOSE that neurological head twitch that you just stated you had already known about.

When you were initially contacted about the issues you REFUSED to help in any way. The few hours that Kathy took to present the information to you, did not negate the fact that she did not receive what you told her she was paying for!

Good luck from this point forward when buying or selling among the reptile community. Perhaps your fishing and firearm communities will be so 'lucky' as to receive the same dishonest communication from you.

All potential purchasers from this seller might note that not only might there be shipping and snake health issues involved with a purchase from him, he also does not appear to be very skilled in either courtesy or customer service, see quote above.
 
Is this kid even 18?He can't type correctly. Will not even listen to anyone like my son would do at the age of 3. Shane if you have 50 people her telling you are in the wrong and most these people are not newbs. Then you have another 50 there telling you you are in the wrong. Then Shane you gotta pull your head out your !!! So now you are admitting it had issues before you sent it but that was not disclosed either. Jesus ur burying yourself. You know you messed up. Just be a man and own up to your mistakes. You as the seller should pay for shipping back. You lied about weights. You neglected to tell about issues. Those 2 things justify a 100% refund. Shane I have not seen 1 person defend you at all out of 100 people. Do the right thing suck it up.

With the damage and illnesses these snakes came to me with, shipping them back is not a ethical or humane option and would be animal cruelty for the one sick and the one with broken ribs. Should i have been so inclined, they would not have been shipped before Monday and I knew by Saturday that one had broken ribs, and that the possibility of an RI, which did happen, was to be watched closely for with the horrendous packing job they were shipped in. Additionally, since the snakes were supposed to be guaranteed healthy, and they were not, and now the refund for them is being refused then a reasonable person could only assume that a refund even if they were shipped would not be honored.

Shane, I gave you the option to refund me a fair amount of your choosing for the differences in their weights and for the potential diseases they might suffer from and succumb to due the horrid shipping conditions. You don't have a plausible excuse for why the weights were wrong and that the shipping should have at least included Styrofoam packing, and that I should be happy with the deal I got even if it wasn't the deal we agreed upon. You were aware they were to be picked up at the hub to prevent more travel time for them (thank goodness the broken rib one wasn't shuffled even more) and even my vet clinic took pictures of their arrival and what was done to warm them up immediately. I am greatly saddened by your actions and to laugh at a snake with obvious neurological issues? Did you laugh at the broken ribs as well? What about the one with the RI, was that amusing to you too?
 
Kathy, I am so sorry you have to deal with all this and this word I can't say will get his karma handed to him on a silver platter. If he really believes all the stuff he wrote he is more ignorant than I thought and should not be within 100 feet of any live animal. Let's hope he doesn't scam anyone else.

Lucille yes I am in Texas I will most likely initiate this action, using this form, next week. Truly a shame and so much pain and suffering could have been adverted were they shipped properly. That doesn't negate the outright lies about their weights, health, and breed-ability, and those deceptions will be the basis of my theft by deception complaint. Thanks for this.



In my opinion this was not about 3% and all about the fact that dispute resolution is not permitted by Paypal for gifts. It is against their TOS and in my opinion a scummy thing to do to try to get around their fee, anyway.



You got sent snakes that were not the advertised weight and that have health issues. Go ahead and contact Paypal and your bank to start. Kathy, are you in Texas?

From our contact with Shane, I was hoping this was a tragic mistake, one that he could learn and recover from.

But after reading this, no. Apparently he is allergic to doing the right thing, any type of customer service, or finding any source of integrity.

Shane Porter is done with SYR, and I will provide his name and information to the FedEx Live Animal Desk as well.

This type of "business" is unacceptable on many levels.

Kathy- please deal only with reputable people from this point. This deal was too good to be true from the start, I wish you hadn't missed that, I am sorry you fell for it. Regardless, you have been taken advantage of, and I wish your circumstances were different. Best of luck with the recovery of those animals.

Knowing you are taking precautions to keep him from utilizing the SYR services is a great thing to see, Robyn.

Hopefully, he does just stick ot local sales or, even better yet, gets out of the hobby entirely. He does not care about the animals or anyone else.

Agreed!!! I would never screw things up as badly as you did Shane but if I did, I would leave those Ball Pythons in good hands where they are now, apologize and give her all of her money back. I would have felt so bad that I would have cut my losses the first day. How you handle this transaction which is actually quite small when you see some of the animal prices on fauna, definately tells us all how you would handle another transaction of any amount large or small. Some people get offended when they are not trusted right off the bat and you Shane are the reason any buyer not knowing seller feels that way. Cut your losses and man up. Be glad you are not deaing with alot more money. She will probably file a Paypal dispute and get her money anyway, but offering to pay her first will always remind everybody of the poor treatment you show to your customers once they pay you. I agree with all of the good folks who took the buyers side on this one, you are dispicable.
 
Robyn and the staff at SYR are really providing an excellent service for the community. The TOS are CLEARLY spelled out on the website. They show CLEARLY what is acceptable. The aformentioned 6 year old could have read that TOS and shipped four adult ball pythons correctly. FLAWLESS service, I've NEVER had one issue whatsoever using SYR. That Mr Porter would jeopardize the community as a whole out of just plain ignorance just plain sucks, and shows a true lack of character, credibility and integrity :(

Not as dramatic but here is an updated video of the RI girl. She appears to be better.
 
Started Friday with nebulyzing antibiotic since she took a turn for the worse and almost choked to death on phglem :( So far so good. Still not a word from Shane as far as reimbursement for any of this.
