Bad Guy Shane Porter

I forgot to mention, and I want to be as clear and honest as I can be as it is the right thing to do in all cases. Shane did offer me my money back or the male black pastel het pied. I chose the snake.

Okay guys I've kept quiet about this for a long time, but since my name has been dragged into this bulls*it I'm going to say my piece.

I bought a female black pastel 100% het pied from Shane for $300 on March 11. I was super excited about adding this animal to my collection and as such brought it with me to the Repticon at Winston Salem where I went to represent Lake Norman Herp Society, to use as a presentation piece and to also show my buddy Frank with Coldblooded Novelties and Limey with Royal Reptilia. Limey first off said "That's a cinnamon" so I brought her to Frank who basically informed me it was actually a snake he produced and showed me the picture on his website - which was actually the picture Shane had used to sell me the snake. When I contacted Shane about this he went back and forth about coming to the show to make it right and that he sent someone in SC my snake and this was that other person's snake. I'm an easy going guy, so I went with it, even though it was obviously false being he had used Frank's picture to sell me this exact animal. After making various phone calls between him and Frank, Shane came to my house late that evening as he didn't make it to the show and swapped me a larger male black pastel het pied. At this point after having been told by paypal I couldn't reverse the transaction I decided to just take it as a lesson learned.

That's my experience with Shane Porter.

Mr. Porter has shown up in a large ball python group I'm part of on Facebook. He still refuses to admit that he was at fault here, and is claiming that Kathy wasn't honest when she told her side of the story. Frankly I'm disgusted to see him still hanging around, playing up the innocent act for all he's worth.

Since I presume I am still blocked, his hiding his posts speaks volumes for character and honesty in my opinion. I suppose I could take screen shots and try to black out personal information such as phone numbers to further prove that nothing was left out pertaining to the snakes and our transaction. (I did not include some political banter but sure could as my support of Ron Paul and his aspirations is nothing I am ashamed of.) I cannot imagine the shape these girls would have been in had they been in a truck all day before they arrived at my home, since I don't even live in the same county of the hub they would have been trucked from. The increased suffering alone of the one with the broken ribs in itself brings tears to my eyes to think of the ride in the truck. Additionally, the box was partially un-taped and at any moment the bags could have fallen out of it depending on how it was situated.

Shane feel free to post any screen shots of what you feel was missing. I copied and pasted directly from the FB PMs we used to communicate from.

As always, if ANYONE would like to contact me privately with questions I will do my best to answer them.

Update: The broken rib girl now lives as a pet with my sister, one of the smaller girls was given to my friends who opened their home for the many months of QT these girls had to endure. The biggest girl with the numerous scars and blind eye is a scanty eater and is well past her prime so also resides with my sister as a pet. So, this lesson cost many of us lots of hours in extra care, lots of money for veterinary services and medicines for the RIs. With a little luck the two smallest girls, coincidentally who both overcame RIs resulting from the way they were shipped, and are finally over 1500 grams or right at it, will give me and my friends some bittersweet clutches. These will be special babies for sure should we be successful.

blah blah blah,,, you care about them so much you gave them away! my point proven, you have the snakes you got money back on them. you need to move on lady. ive sold alot more animals with no issues. just one sour apple in the bunch..with more people tryin to start crap online.. glad to know they are going to be healthy breeders giving the neurological issues, and blind eyes! id say the clutches will be bittersweet!

You need to take responsibility for your actions instead of acting like a child with his hands over his ears screaming "I can't hear you!"

The way you continue to act about this leaves no doubt in my mind that you will continue to leave your buyers hanging when you screw up again. You can't seem to muster even a drop of remorse for your actions.

Regardless of whether Kathy chooses to forget about this or not, I will always let your prospective buyers know about this thread. They should be warned that if you make a mistake you will blame it on them, and weasel out of fixing things however you can.

Shane the neuro issue is the one that came with the broken ribs that you so callously laughed about when the head jerking was brought up. You know, the one whom you failed to mention had any neuro issues when you sold her to me? Now you laugh thinking that she might not be a good breeder yet that is what you sold her as? The blind eye scarred up girl is the one that appears to be older and is also not being bred.

Keep talking as it shows your true inner self.

To recap, neither permanently damaged girls will ever be anything more than pets that I have placed in my sisters care and provide all food for. My choice to do what I feel is the right thing for them. Broken rib girl is eating and digesting with no issues, finally. I feel the digestion issues might have been parasite related, and after worming her she has not missed a beat and has normal defecations. Scarred up blind eye girl just seems old and tired. Not much desire to do much of anything. Some of the scars you can put your finger in to there is so much muscle damage, thankfully healed but the injuries were extreme. This may cause her some pain issues as well, but its hard to know for sure. As long as she doesnt lose weight, and can hold her own, she has a calm and restful place to be from now on

im not laughin at the snake.. im laughing at you!! i find it funny how they all have horrible issues but now your breeding them? give me a break! oh so now your not breeding them im sorry lady but i think you full of it. like i said you got money back on them an got to keep my snakes. i just dont see how you can care so much for them then give them away so to speak, and they have all these issues and your going to breed, them. like i said these snakes were fine and feeding like monsters when they left my care. ive sold over 40 snakes in the past month, half local half shipped with no issues. like i posted on facebook everybody makes mistakes, but as far as me selling u snakes with broken ribs and neuro issues thats a crock! now they may have had parasites? hog wash!!

you can assume all you want, you are wrong. let everybody know about her and this thread, i hope they read all the crap she said about them having issues now shes gonna breed them,.. this is too much. i think you all realize how much BS that is. snakes with neuro problems, and your going to breed them? shows how much you care about the snakes!! i do not sell sick animals. i could get alot of people to chime in on this thread who an bought from me this year with no issues. but its pointless. people just like to start crap because they have nothing better to do.

MOVE ON WITH YOUR SNAKES, for all i know you sold them or something. i dont care what you do with them, you got free snakes in the end. none died, i never sold sick animals, and good luck on breeding them. i already stated at the first part of this bs, about how i didnt ship out the animals, my GF at the time (wife now) shipped the snakes. i didnt get a phone call from u kathy, or a text or anything. i told u to contact me asap when you got them to let me know. you didnt do that. you jumped on here an started taking pictures an bashing mee and didnt even take the time to call me.all i seen was a post on here with pictures when i returned from vacation. if i got snakes that were not shipped correct, i would call that person. again my mistake my fault for not shipping them and ttrusting her to. but i dont believe for one second those animals were sick, or had any issues. they never missed a meal for me.

Kathy, im sure you are perfect an never make mistakes, but i do know you are a coward an didnt have the guts to call me when you knew something was wrong when the snakes came in! thats where you made a mistake! i told you to contact me as soon as you got them! you didnt even bother. but you sure took enough time to take pictures an start drama. best thing you could have done was give away those animals be it your sister or whoever got them. i dont really care. you can get on with you life or continue to post more issues with the animals a year later. breed those sick snakes an let us know how that turns out. your so fulll of crap my computer stinks!

I am glad for any snake that gets to leave your care. I hope you learn from your mistakes, for the poor animals sake. I am certainly glad the ones I got from you went to someone who had the time, money, knowledge, desire and friends who were able to help support and care for these babies while they were in 8 months of QT. Getting them to where they are today was certainly a team effort, both here and from lots of people in the herp community who offered advice and support emotionally. Funny you think its crazy that I gave one of the now healthy RI girls to my friend who opened their home and hearts, and of course became attached with all the extra care and time involved in regaining the health of the girls. What would it have cost to pay someone to QT and treat them for all that time? Certainly more than the normal girl I offered. We have all sat in the kitchen watching the poor broken rib girl struggle to keep herself righted, and drag the lower part of her body as her head bobbed and jerked from the neuro issues you said she has had for a while before you shipped her to me. Cried over trying to decide what was the most humane thing for her. We re eval the two health issue girls from time to time to make sure we are making the right choices for them. Its the least we can do.

you can QT animals yourself you onviously have no idea what you are doing. like i said no issues with the snakes when they left my home. you didnt have to spend money on them! i told you i would pay for shipping an send them back that was your choice!! just like it was your choice not to contact me asap when you got them like i asked if there was any issues! thats on you for all the support an QT you needed, i offered to pay for shipping an you can send them back. and you didnt say one thing about it, kept on with the stupid fauna posts, not one phone call about them. nobody made you do anything. you could have sent them back to me like i asked an been on your way.

Shane, I've read this entire thread plus the one on Facebook without bias. First, it seems you don't read any better than you write, so I'll use small words.
She asked if they had health problems, you said no. Then you said she already had neuro issues. Which was it? Next, she very clearly said she's only breeding the two that she's been able to get healthy again, not the two that aren't. Also, alive doesn't necessarily mean healthy. Finally, anyone with half a brain would want a written record after issues like this. I think that's the main reason you're angry she didn't call. Since she was smart about it and got everything in writing you can't try to accuse her of lying any more than you already are.

Kathy, would you mind letting us know exactly how much these snakes ended up costing you? Since, you know, Shane thinks you got such a "deal." Props to you for everything you've done for these girls.

There are x-rays early on in the thread that CLEARLY show the broken ribs. Are you seriously saying that the x-rays were wrong? That she broke the snake's ribs herself? That she took x-rays of a different snake with broken ribs?

The only "crock" here is you insulting everyone's intelligence by pretending that we would believe you over the very thorough documentation Kathy has provided.
