About a month ago I inquired about a hypo het trans female leatherback that Shawn was selling. He had told me that it was sold but he had another female with the same genetics that was a hold back. We negotiated a price of $270 for her, she looked awesome in the pictures so I was willing to spend a lot to get her. The ad was momentarily posted on fauna (http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=239691) and then almost immediately marked as sold because I purchased her soon after she was posted.
After a few shipping issues (not Shawn's fault at all, they were due to a tornado in Illinois) I finally received her. I brought her to my school (I'm a teacher) and was showing her to my students. When I was asked how to tell the difference between male and female dragons, I used the dragon as an example and saw that she was actually a he! It was clearly a male dragon. I contacted Shawn about this because I already had 2 male dragons and did not need a third. He told me that it was definitely a female. The dragon was too beautiful to return so even though I didn't need a male dragon, I decided to keep him. Then I checked the mass of the dragon. I was told it was 135 grams when I purchased it, but when I weighed him, he was 90 grams. Needless to say, I thought I was sent a different dragon than what I had purchased.
As I said, Shawn assured me that it was a female and that it was the correct dragon but it is clearly a male, no doubt about it. Today I checked his breeders/upcoming breeders on Extreme Dragons Website (http://extremedragons.weebly.com/breedersupcoming-breeders.html) and there is a picture of the female he supposedly sold me! Now unless he hasn't updated his website in over a month, there is something shady going on. I know that there is nothing that can be done at this point and I don't expect him to do anything to rectify the issue but I don't wanna see anyone else get taken advantage of so I'm just letting people know my experience with Shawn. He definitely produces some great looking dragons but I feel like I got scammed a little bit.
