In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Received a sub adult female translucent bearded dragon from Shawn Carter/Bridgedragons.com from Pittsburg,Pa. today.

He cared so little for the bearded dragon he shipped her in a light weight single wall cardboard box. when I gently lifted her out the poor girl was so cold she could barely move.

The cost of an insulated shipping box is $3.00 and change. it does not matter if its cold or hot... insulated boxes are needed to safely ship live reptiles.

When I opened the box this is exactly what I saw, nothing on top to insulated the Dragon from the cold :(

That really stinks Mr. Clark, I take it you were able to save the poor Beardie (hoping)?
I do hope you gave the seller the what for.

Hope it survives---People just don't use their head.

I'm in the area----if he wants to ship you a replacement I can pick it up at a show this weekend and ship it to you next week. I have insulated boxes and heat!

Just lemme know--

Ouch. Has this guy been in business long? Thankfully the temps have warmed a little.

Oh man.. NO heat or insulation.. I sure hope the poor dragon is ok and no RI.I mean it must be cold where he is from.. Little brain power would of worked here..Let us know how the dragon does please...

Were you aware that he was shipping it by USPS as well?

I bought this girl $xxx.xx shipped and assumed fedex or ups.

I did know a couple hours before she was shipped it would be postal, alot of lizard folks use postal shipping and I have no issue with the method of shipping as it got here in a timely manner.

Single wall cardboard boxes do not cut it shipping reptiles.

Not True!!!

That is just absolutely amusing to me.I shipped that animal the same way I've ever shipped or recieved an animal. That's funny how it was so cold when it was 60+ degrees out and she was winter packed.Yes she was packed tight so she doesnt bounce all around during shipping. She was inside a box inside a container for BETTER insulation.Oh and the fact that you assumed she was coming ups when we spoke on the phone before shipping and I said Im shipping usps and you said thats fine.People are hilarious.I have plenty of top breeder references to back me up believe me on that. Its funny how easily people believe one side of a story. Please Ed Clark tell the truth don't try to slander my name to better your business.Thats not the way to get ahead. Not to mention the fact I said I would gladly replace the dragon for you or give you your money back.I save all my e-mails so if someone needs to see proof feel free to contact me I will forward all e-mails to you.All she needed to do was get into her enclosure and she was fine. What animal isn't going to be a little stressed getting shipped.I assume she was also perfectly fine because when I offered you your refund you did not accept. So thank you and have a great day. Please people your entitled to you own opinions but don't believe everything you hear. This guy just wants your pitty.I care deeply for my animals and spend thousand more then I make to care for them.Feel free to contact me.

Gladly show pics!

Gladly,

I pack according to the weather. For cold weather I would ship as follows.Picture 1 : I tape the heat pack to the bottom piece of insulation which isn't yet in the pic. ( opened heat pack obviously ).The box size is determined by the size of the animal.Picture 2 I add crumbled balls of paper to avoid direct contact from the heat pack to the animal to prevent burning.Picture 3: I foam insulate bottom and all sides of box ( I didn't fully show this in the pic because I don't want to cut the insulation.I do not know what size box I will need for next time I ship so I don't want to cut the wrong size and waste it.In this scenario with this guy the only thing I did not do was insulate because of the temperature during the shipping. We had a heat wave and its was high temps.I fully considered using insulation for his ship but the temperature was high to the point I was nervous of the animal burning up by having a heat pack, insulation,a container inside of a box inside of a building and a truck for most of the ship.I determined that it would be to hot for the animal.Picture 4 : I put the dragons inside of a container that is lined with thick parer towels or thick toilet paper in case the dragon has a bowel movement and also to provide some extra warmth. Also to prevent them from being bounced and flipping around during shipping and the container provides a little extra insulation. The size of the container is determined by the size of the dragon.I match them up so the dragon is secure in the container to avoid bouncing all around during shipping. The dragon isn't crammed into some tight container so that he cannot move.I put them in the right size container to where the animal has a full turning ratio but doesn't have so much room that it is being thrown every which way during shipping. All containers have holes to allow air circulation. The amount of holes is also determined by the temperature. If its colder out I use less holes to avoid cold air getting inside with the dragon. The containers in this pic are containers I use but the specific ones in this picture are ones that I have out.I just used them for a quick pic to show you what I use.I then tape the box shut completely.Mark all sides of the box with LIVE HARMLESS REPTILE along with arrows pointing upwards to let the carrier know the correct position the box should be in. Believe me I dedicate myself and my time to my dragons.I love my animals dearly.I think to myself at times how can breeders and just people in general mistreat an animal.I would never EVER do anything to harm my animals. Also I do not believe in bad business. Why would I deliberately do something to ruin my name so that I run my business into the ground???A business that I work so hard to build?? It wouldn't make sense. There are breeders out there who care nothing for the animal. That can care less about its health and is simply just concerned about the money.I promise you I am not one of them.Funny how out of all the dragons I've shipped this was the only complaint I ever received. I truly believe this guy is just one of those people that does anything to get where he needs to be.Instead of fully discussing his problem with me.He tells me nothing and goes and post negative pics along with fabricated stories about me.In my personal opinion it's simply to try to cut out a fellow breeder to better his business. It's also a shame to me that it actually probably worked on some people. As you can see the people who so quickly sided with him not even knowing at the least my side of the story. All it took was a few pics that he took to his liking and a couple lies to he win the crowd over. Its not right to me that these website allow people to be slandered to the point they even have titles such as Bad Guy that you can brand to a persons name.So that means anyone can come on here throw a bad guy title on someone. Tell some lies and ruin there good name and business.Just like that. Its sad that's all it takes.I hope these pics are sufficient enough. Thank You.

Its not very amusing to me to receive an expensive animal in the winter packed in a flimsy single wall cardboard box you fished out of the trash!

If you are recieving packages like this you are not dealing with anyone that cares about the well being of the animals they are selling and shipping.

You say this is how you always ship live animals, I guess in the summer you use cricket boxes? if that is the way you ship in the winter you suck!!

Children!!

You humor me you low breed of human. The word play you use is that of an elementary school student. "You Suck" I remember hearing kids say that when I was in 1st grade. Flimsy box? That's funny because that box was very sturdy so I do not know how it could be flimsy??Actually in the summer I use the same boxes.HMMM go figure.Unlike you I do not surf the internet and reptile shows for the unwanted animals.I deal with big names. I am grown so I will not be responding to this nonsense anymore you child. This is foolish games played by people who will use any advantage they can to get ahead. So post all you want.Real true genuine people can see through this.So it does not bother me at all. Thank You and God Bless You.

Yea, go figure!!

Here is an inexpensive shipping box alot of us use, it costs around $3.00

Don't you think your animals are worth the small box charge?

Big names...you said that you deal with the big names, you also said you receive live animals in boxes like you use. if I'm not mistaken that means that the big names also pick the trash piles for their cardboard boxes just like you?

Who are the big names you are talking about?

Mr. Carter -

First off, do you deny that the pics posted by Ed Clark are accurate

Second, are you aware that Ed is not very popular with many folks on this board (sorry, Ed...nothing personal).

Third, most people who see this thread will not make a decision based on your method of shipping in this one particular case, but rather how you conduct yourself in response. Right or wrong, humility goes a long way here.

Lastly, feel free to e-mail or PM me if you'd like to discuss shipping methods. I'll be glad to impart any knowledge I have so that you don't run into an issue such as this one again.

Hey Mike,

He took those pics to his liking. It's very easy to take a few pics to make people feel sorry for you. Then he completely lied to better his story.Anyone can come on here and put a bad guy label on someone to make them look bad.He could have never done business with me and took some pics of his personal dragons added a false story and posted it to make someones business look bad to better his own.I described my shipping in an earlier post. The dragon he received is fine.I offered him a refund he did not accept.Instead he made this ridiculous post that I knew nothing about until yesterday.I don't know much about him as far as his popularity but I take your word that he doesn't he is not very popular.I believe that's why he took advantage of this situation in an attempt to better his business.I've shipped plenty of dragons in freezing weather below 10 degrees that were received fine with no complaints. It does not bother me as to what someone might take of this post because I know what is true.I know how I care for my animals. If someone wants to believe his attempt to better his business then so be it.If you think my method of shipping is wrong I'm open for your suggestions Mike.As I said though I have never received a complaint. All I ever had was satisfied customers. His dragon simply just needed to warm up a little and it was absolutely fine.He says he had to "treat the dragon".If you consider treating a dragon putting it into its enclosure to warm up after it was just shipped then OK.I personally would not call that treating a dragon. These animals are from a desert climate. No mater how they are packed if your shipping them in the winter they are going to be a little cold and stressed from the ship.As it is obvious though the dragon is fine.It just needed to warm up as I said. Not to mention the days I shipped his we had a heat wave on our side of the U.S. and was about 60 degrees.Again I've shipped in below 10 degrees and snowing with no complaint just a thank you and a smile. Thank You.

So the pic Ed posted of the box he claimed to receive from you is not the one you sent him? He just decided to grab a beat up looking box and throw some newspaper in it to make you look like a bad guy?

I offer you my humble apologies on this matter, as I thought Ed posted a photo of the box you had shipped him, especially considering how it was exactly how you described your shipping methods (minus heat pack). I must have been mistaken. Your method does in fact look much more secure than the insulated box Ed posted as an example of the industry standard regarding shipping.

Perhaps you can post your method on another "rediculous" forum to lend a hand.

Since when is 60 degrees a heatwave that would preclude one from using insulated boxes when shipping? (Just for the record - the foam also increases the structural strength of the box, which is another reason most of us use it year round...even when shipping in perfect weather conditions)
