In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Sheila Topp/Shelialovesanimals BAD! BAD! VERY BAD!

Jeez, I was starting to feel bad about giving such an unstable woman instructions on how to end it all. But now it feels like it was justified. I hope the Mali gets to you safe and sound. I am looking at mine now and they are so damn cute. Good luck!

All I can say is WOW! I just read all of this, now its time to go hide in the closet.

Careful John,

Sheila may be in there with the bubble wrap. :bolt01:
She seems as stable as a drunk fat man on roller skates. Can you say nuttier than a Payday? Hopefully Santa brought her a jacket that causes her to hug herself. :crazy03:

Instead of the crazy lady with all the cats she has reptiles.

There ya go DAND!! Instead of enforcing the Lacey Act on this nutter, I think the Baker Act would be more fitting. What a way to conduct business and horrible treatment for the animal. Aprylla, I sure hope tomorrow brings good news for you and the mali.

Sorry, forgot to put my name on my sig. And the package is out for delivery....everybody keep your fingers crossed.

I work up at 6 am hoping to catch the package before it left, usually the packages don't leave the UPS hub until around 8 am. I was a few minutes too late. Everyone keep your fingers crossed, hopefully my regular driver will be bringing it and it will get here soon (and safe).

Sorry, that was supposed to be I "woke" up at 6 am. Still early for me, usually am not awake quite this early. :)

OK between this thread and the one on Ben I feel like ive read a bad bugs bunny cartoon. One thing with the e-mails and tone of " sheila " though did stand out. There was a Kid on here awhile back that was saying someone was doing venomoid surgeries and that he was breeding i beleive Hognose to Boas," Ken might remember the user" This turned out to be a highschool kid lieing about good people and a host of other things. Err make a long story short, This thread reminds me of that in that it has the characteristic" kid" style all over it and that this person might be using their mothers name.

If thats the case i would hope Mom and Dad go find a good hickory switch and then take all PC access away from this kid for a good long time.

I really hope the Uro arrives alive and that it can be rehabed back to the shape it should be in good luck with it and please let us know how things progress with it.

ive been following this thread...its so hard to wait to see if the lizard is okay...
im also expecting a new lizard today...
ill be waiting here for word of yours, and my package to arrive...

its got to be a kid yall...i cant imagine a grown woman behaving like this!

Here's the deal! Ok So is Sheila a adult or kid? how do you explaine the shipping and paypal, along with some other remarks made earlier? if she is a kid!
No she sounds like an adult to me, I was e-mailing back & forth a week ago about a tegu and I say she is an adult! Sheila you told me you were married and had a kid(s). Whats up with all this?

Mali Uro arrived ALIVE. Taking pics. Looks AWFUL! Will post pics very soon. Trying to get her soaked and rehydrated.

Thank goodness she's alive! I hope you can get her rehydrated and back up to par. Can't wait to see the pics.

im so glad she is alive.

Warning: Graphic Pics, Not For Sensitive Readers!!!

Please DO NOT look at the following pics if you have a weak stomach! Seriously, skip to the next message if you don't want to see these.

I had to seriously contemplete posting them. You will understand why when you see them. When I first received the package, I heard the lizard scratching like crazy, so at least I knew she was alive. I took a few minutes to photograph the box from all sides. There was no indication that there was a live reptile in the box (obviously). It only said "Fragile" on all sides. Luckily, there were some air holes poked in the box. Inside the box was a large deli dish with a washcloth on top of it and one on the bottom. The deli dish was wrapped in an enormous amount of bubblewrap. There were two 18 hour heat packs, one taped on top of the deli dish, one taped on bottom. There was a layer of aspen mulch inside the deli dish with the uro.

I can post pics of the unopened box and opened box if anyone wants to see them.

I figured most everyone would want to see the lizard instead though.

I have to say that when I first took her out and looked at her I almost lost my lunch (literally). The only thing Sheila told me about her illness was that she had some trouble when she sheeded and broke out in some little bumps. Little bumps? ACK! See for yourself.

Luckily, she did include a bottle of Malaseb that came from her vet in Jacksonville, FL. I am going to be on the phoen withthem very soon to see what her diagnosis was.

The "little bumps" (which are all over her belly, tails, limbs and neck) are hard like pieces of rock. They are bright orange in color (my camera didn't quite catch the color correctly). Her back is grey and brownish in color. I can;t really see any sort of yellow which Mali Uros usually have.

The lizard is in overall poor condition I would say. She is thin, dehydrated and looks terrible. However, she is moving about her enclosure at the moment and appears alert. She even took a couple bites of the greens I gave her.

Anyone ever seen " bumps" like this before? The spray I was sent is an anti-fungal. It is usually used to help treat ringworms in dogs and cats. It is also used to treat other fungal type infections.

Here are the pics...

uros stomach...

They kind of look like warts that a human would get. Definetly in poor condition though.

Just got off the phone with the vet clinic in Jacksonville (and then called my own herp vet here).

They (Jacksonville Clinic) were kind enough to go and pull the file for me and let me know that the Mali Uro had been treated in Sepember 2004 for skin lesions/skin fungus (no actual diagnosis had been made). She was given this Malaseb which "has to be applied twice daily until the skin lesions/fungus are gone". Also to rehydrate her, they had prescribed .25 cc of SMZ Pediatic Syurp once daily for 30 days. No follow-up visits were ever made.

At least I have that much to work with.

The vet in Jacksonville is a known exotics vet that specializes in reptiles (I won't mention names, I am sure they do not want to be involved) and this vet does keep thier own personal reptiles also. At least I know she was seen my a good herp vet. Hopefully my herp vet will be able to help further in this matter.

My herp vet told me today that he will be out of town until Monday. He said since this "doesn't appear to be life threatining (for the lizard) at this time" then I can come in on Monday. He told me to keep soaking her, applying the Malaseb twice daily, and keep her eating.

Wish me luck you guys. This little lizard appears to be a fighter. :) I hope I am able to bring her back to health eventually and rid her of these horrendous sores.
