In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Shipnex (anyone used them?)

Please excuse me if I eventually come off as ignorant
Well you said it.

Shipnex, Shiptyourreptiles.com, and reptiles are the same
Not really one is ALLOWED to ship reptiles the other one is not and that makes a HUGE difference, well at least for me and anyone that believes that shipping in compliance with the law and a company TOS matters which is obviously not your case.

I use Shipnex, I get 60% off, and I love it. PERIOD.

Again SHIPNEX is not allowed to ship live animals PERIOD, UPS allows you to ship reptiles but not snakes. Snakes can be shipped via fedex either with your own account if you are certified or via SYR.

Quit your bitchin, its been done for years. Cheapest is best, cause its all UPS.

Sadly anyone such as yourself who will do anything just to save a few dollars using companies that are not allowed to ship live animals or snakes in particular put us all at risk.

Our industry is under tremendous scrutiny and people like you are the ones that put our right to ship reptiles in jeopardy.

Flash news for you packages get flagged and get inspected.

Yes 2 + 2 does = Cheaper with the same Carrier no matter what your printer says,

Please people, quit being **cks, keep open minds, think for yourself, and we can all love nature and animals, we can cut emissions, we can do all these green things, But we dont have to be Bunny hiuggers.

The label says UPS or FED EX, and thats the end of it. I hope we can all cut our costs and increase our profits.

I am sorry but I dont think you know what you are atlking about

Who picks up the Shipnex package?.... UPS

Where can you drop off the Shipnex Package? .... UPS

I am confused what you are talking about?

In this country, there is UPS, FED EX, and the federal UPS mail.

There are websites like SYR and Shipnex that take the volume of packages and apply it to the carrier standard to reap a discount. USPS is not included.

If you cannot fathom this I can not help you any furthur.

Thanks!

Wow seems like you were right in your first post about sounding ignorant :ack2:

You do understand that there is a difference between using your own account and using a third party?

Third party such as shipnex allowing you to print a label have agreements/contracts with specific carriers such as Fedex and UPS in this case if you READ the thread you will find out that Shipnex does not have a specific agreement pertaining to the shipping of live reptiles.

Says who? Says them in various communication with members of this forum.

Can YOU ship directly using YOUR UPS account? yes you can ship reptiles except snakes

Can YOU ship directly using Fedex? Yes if you are certified to ship live reptiles

Can YOU ship using SYR? Yes because SYR has an agreement with Fedex to allow their customer to ship reptiles under their account.

But yeah you right I probably don't know what I am talking about

One thing I know though is that I would never do business with someone that has questionable shipping practices putting the rest of us at risks and I bet I am not the only one ;)

I will weigh in here.

I was using Ship Nex to ship turtles. Someone referred me to the site, I gave it a try, used it a few times, everything went well.

I tried to log in recently, and it said my account did not exist, so I emailed them. Here is my reply:

"Dear Mike

Account is inactivated as we are not allowed to ship Live Animals under our account till further notice.

We will notify as we received any more update from main carrier companies.

Kind Regards,

Agee"

So there you have it- they ARE NOT allowed to ship animals. Just for the sake of it, I created a personal account and booked a shipment. It no longer produces a UPS or FedEx label, but a Nex label. It doesn't indicate who it will be shipping through.

I am back to SYR, because I don't want any problems. You don't have to tell me twice.

They said themselves that they're not allowed to ship any live animals, under their account (which tells me that you're not using your account but theirs).
I don't get why people want to still use this service when they've flat-out stated, multiple times, that they are not allowed to ship live animals.

I didn't know DHL went out of business in the States!?!?

I also find your signature extremely ironic regarding your current position.

I have not even bothered to read the above, Please excuse me if I eventually come off as ignorant, because my fingers are FLYING, and everyone NEEDS TO WAKE UP.

You're definitely not excused for not taking the TIME to read this extremely informative thread that provides several RED FLAGS as to why shipping animals (yes, including reptiles!) has not been granted by UPS or FedEx to be done so via Shipnex.

Shipnex has confirmed themselves in WRITING that they do not have this permission from the carriers that they use. When using third party carriers, (which is what they are doing), you need to have their permission, as you're using THEIR services. Shipnex is just a middle man, that simply provides labels at discounted rates. However, if they don't have the waivers, then all this means NOTHING. Anyone that uses Shipnex is breaking the TOS of FedEx and UPS, and this is the LAST thing our industry needs.

Ship responsibly folks. Use Reptiles Express, SYR, as they've gone through the TEDIOUS process of being Live Approved shippers to help the herp industry. Or...use your own live certified FedEx account. These are the only 3 methods available to choose from. Nothing else.

I came off as rude, I just read my first comments last nite and i came off wrong. I was ripped about something else and it went right to the keyboard. I am sure some of you will want to let me have it for it, go ahead I can take it. I apologize.

Anyway, Someone please explain to me why I can walk into a UPS with a turtle or lizard in an open box, clearly marked and it is within UPS terms to let me ship that animal without any problem. Yet if I print a ShipNEX UPS label, I am suddently doing something wrong. I think there is alot of misinformation some of these companies throw around to try and force you to use them, and I do not appreciate it.

You do not need any sort of waiver or have to have an account to ship Turtles or lizards UPS. You can walk right in and send them out. Fed EX is a different story, they have different policies.

Reptile Express and SYR use Fed Ex. Fed ex requires you to have an account. UPS does not. ShipNEX uses UPS, I do not understand the confusion.

ShipNEX even sent me Christmas chocolates!

The Shipping Annex will not ship live animals under any conditions. Please feel free to contact the FedEx Live Animal Desk if you are interested in a shipment exception.

Snakes, arachnids, crocodilians, etc should still be sent FED EX obviously . UPS does not allow snakes so that is huge for the companies that use fed ex. But Frogs and turtles mainly UPS I find is the way to save money through Shipnex. Are UPS Terms being violated? NO

How many big time well repsected wholesalers/dealers use only UPS?

Are Shipnex terms being violated.... possibly. I guess you run the risk of getting your account cancelled with them. Are you breaking any laws, or run the risk of UPS stopping your shipment? Nope.
