In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Okay here is the deal,

was talking to a breeder (not dropping any names), But they said the only way they would ship is US postal service overnight and no guarantee of live delivery outside the fact of possibly getting credit. I said heck no!

Now I have a friend in a similar situation... I have many concerns with it as it just seems plain bad... US Post does not allow live animals so there is already deciet involved...

Any thoughts or opinions?

Charles

Actually , USPS regs do allow for the shipping of various live animals, including lizards and small crocodilians.

As for the rest of your concern, I too would be wary of someone with no guarantee of live arrival (unless amphibians).

Thank you

Ken,

Thank you for your reply, I was not aware that USPS regs allowed for the shipment of live animals such as small lizards and crocodilians. I deal mainly with snakes and when I inquired about such here locally I was told no once and met with a dumb stare beyond that. So thanks for that info:)

USPS also does NOT guarantee overnight shipping to all places. I've learned to ALWAYS ask how your animals are going to be shipped, even if it's someone 'reputable'. I had what was almost a horror story involving a turtle. He was in transit (illegally) for 5 days in February. He's ok, but he's a very tough turtle.

shipping concerns

Most if not all of your carriers will not knowlingly ship live animals especially reptiles. If they do they will not guarantee live arrival or give any type of refund if something goes wrong. Airborne is good about shipping but technically they can only ship turtles or tortoises, no lizards, snakes, etc.

I've had incredibly bad luck w/Airborne. Their tracking system is an abomination, and lost packages are not uncommon.

What's the latest on USPS? In another thread someone said that they've put a moritorium on ALL animal shipments now?

I ship USPS

I always ship USPS Express Overnight and have never had a problem. My packages are ALWAYS CLEARLY marked LIVE HARMLESS REPTILE ( I ship chameleons and bearded dragons) I also insure mine, they've always done it and asked no questions.

I however personally guarantee live arrival as long as the buyer is home to receive the package, which is common practice
