In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....
Stephanie Kunder, this was totally uncalled for, I think you owe Robyn an apology. You make me sick, and your comment about moving it to the BOI is a joke. Robyn is nothing but a good guy, PROVEN many times. You came in here and called him a liar, now it is time for you to buck up with a big “I’m sorry”.

Also while we are on the subject, is it not true that you, Stephanie Kunder, has wanted to set up a shipping account business like Robyn’s? And all of this is based on jealousy?

I will be honest with you Stephanie; I have not trusted you ever since I went in on a breeding loan with you. You claimed the snake died with not one ounce of proof. That snake was 100% healthy and was in my care for a long time, without any issues at all. But we will leave that one alone for now. Bottom line is, you were wrong about Robyn, and you need to apologize to him and stop attacking someone that is here to help all of us.

Bobby... her concerns were fairly valid. She has already agreed to try SYR again at a later date. ( This, to me, is her admitting she was in the wrong on SOME points in her stance/opinion) I agree with her that i think, eventually steps ARE going to need to be made for a process to PROVE people are quite able to ship legitimately, but im allowing time and for UPS corporate to see that this is in fact, a good business move for them. I like the program and will continue to support it and i plan on using it myself, and wish it all the best that it succeeds.

I dont really agree with how you go at Steph though. You kinda did the same thing in that PIJAC thread.... and have not posted since. I Proved to you that the program was OPT IN * Providing the PDF link in my post, so that EVERYONE can read what it is REALLY about*. and that it is NOT the "new HR669" that people were wondering. Will you apologize to PIJAC for accusing them of what you did? I think you need to just take a breath and step back a bit Bobby.

Wow, Bobby. Talk about throwing around false accusations. You have me dumbfounded and I don't even know what to say to you. I'm not too sure what your motive is or why you would say such unwarranted things.

For the record, no, I have never planed to start a third party shipping program. I do not have the financial backing to do so, nor do I have the time or interest to do so. Way too large of a project with too many legal ramifications for me to even consider it. Where exactly did you get that idea in the first place?

As for that normal male Cornsnake you sent me 3 (?) years ago. The snake did die in my care and I offered to reimburse you for him. You refused and didn't ask for any "proof." What more was I expected to do? I was honest about it and offered to compensate you for him. What exactly are you trying to get at with bringing that up?

My questions and concerns about SYR/UPS were valid. UPS was telling me that no contract existed when I started making phone calls when the snakes were confiscated; I'm not pulling this information out of thin air. I have thanked SYR for following through with their promises and for validating the contract with Rich. I have said I would try a third time with SYR/UPS and acknowledged that the problem obviously lies with UPS not having everything together on their end.

Wow, Bobby...Just wow...

I quoted the above in its entirety because the above statements are THAT important. The letter (given the assumption that it exists) is pointless if UPS doesn't honor the terms of that agreement (which they don't seem to be doing) and SYR doesn't take massive steps to make sure those terms ARE accepted. This isn't the phone example - these are time sensitive packages containing live animals. They MUST be legally labeled, and "flying under the radar" is like not having a waiver at all. This reminds me of all the illegal shipping done prior to FedEx approving anyone that qualifies: "Sure we CAN do it, just don't let anyone know so we don't get in trouble."

If the packages are being stopped - UPS problems or not - then this "beta testing" is a failure. What percentage of messed up shipments are acceptable? 5%? 1% 0.5%? In my opinion, 1% is MUCH to large of a margin of error, and I doubt these people are seeing 99% of the packages go through flawlessly when legally marked. That's just sad.

At this point Robyn has answered the questions presented to him about an agreement with UPS to the best of his ability. We now know that an agreement is in place between SYR and UPS and that a copy cannot be provided to individual shippers to help ease their concern of packages being rejected.

Yes it was a big deal for Stephanie's package to be confiscated and handed over to animal control. In the future I think it would be wise if a package is rejected initially for a new shipping label/new tracking number to be produced by SYR per the shipper's request in order to prevent a potentially "flagged" label from being stopped mid-route. And again, if a package is stopped and the shipper wants to back out, then they can explain the situation to SYR, obtain a refund and ship via FedEx/Delta/whatever.

This is a new program and there are going to be kinks to work out. Until problem situations are presented, Robyn cannot be expected to be a fortune teller and have a solution for every given scenario. If people have concerns then do as Robyn said - don't use SYR.

I used ShipYourReptiles.com this morning for the first time, and so far, it's been flawless. Easy to use, easy to drop off at my local Office Depot (which picks up at 4:30 pm, and then again at 8:00 for Overnight package only).

Walked in, dropped off the package, the copy center clerk thanked me and set my package with the other UPS packages waiting to be picked up. The package is currently at the Atlanta airport to make its way to Iowa in the morning.

I liked being able to send an e-mail with tracking to myself and the recipient when confirming my shipment. I also chose the Signature required option for $4.95 additional.

Hello. We are OFF THE ARK. I have been using FEDEX for years and had few problems. I saw the savings on SYR and was intrigued. I tried them out here and there for a few weeks and was pretty happy. We then decided to go to the full time and 4 of my last 6 boxes were late with two of them still not to their location as of 7 am the NEXT day. None of the animals have been harmed, mostly because of the weather, but I am still concerned. It really makes the company (US) look bad in the eyes of the customer.

I know this is a UPS issue and I am not happy with UPS. We are going back to FEDEX. It seems this is not an uncommon issue.

Just a quick follow-up that my package made it to the recipient without incident! I know that this is just one shipment to base my experience on, but I found the site to be very user friendly, and pain free!

Do you mean to the hub for delivery or to the customer? I've never had a package arrive before 9:30 am.

I just used them to ship a package and had no issues with SYR at all. Saved me thirty bucks, too.

I tried using them for the first time this week. It was easy and saved me over $70 between the 5 packages I sent out. I was able to pass those savings on with lower overall prices which also helped to bring in those sales. I would have to say that my experience was very good overall.

I only used it more like a booking agent and once my label was printed everything else was the same as I have always done it. The only problem I see is that when a problem does occur (such as an unsuccessful delivery attempt), UPS contacts SYR/APS instead of me. I did receive a call from SYR/APS to let me know about it, but it may be difficult in getting problems worked out going between a third party.

I will continue to use the service to provide shipping prices that are more competitive with some of the larger volume breeders/dealers. I have complete confidence that any of the small to large problems that do occur will be sorted out and procedures will be in place to lessen the probability of them occurring again.

Hey Windows has it's problems too but I bet most of you have it installed as your OS. :D

So this raises the question then - I almost feel this shouldn't be on the BOI, but - is this going to make competitors look bad who continue to charge $50 and $60 for shipping when it can be had at the same price for $30 or $40??? I'm not talking people who ship big snake or monitor packages with Delta Dash and things that can only be picked up at the airport - I'm talking normal packages under 2 lbs. that come to the customer's door before noon the next day.

If they're charging more, that's on them. Myself, I welcome the ability to ship to California for under seventy bucks.

You're right...this is definitely a side discussion that shouldn't happen here. I'll try to format my reply so it doesn't seem too off topic: I don't feel it makes anybody look bad, especially at this early point. SYR offers a service that some people are taking advantage of, and others are not. There can be any number of reasons WHY they might choose not to utilize SYR. Personally, UPS is considerably less convenient for me - whether I am shipping or receiving (referring to live animals only). Also, while there is a potential financial benefit, I haven't noticed anything close to what Shadera claimed - I'm not disputing it, just saying that my savings would have been considerably lower. I shipped from NY to Cali, and SYR would have saved me $12. I've checked prices on about a dozen packages, and the difference between SYR and FedEx has been right around the $10-12 mark. In some cases, I suppose that might make or break a sale...and when my shipping volume increases, it might make sense for me to consider SYR (there comes a point when $$ saved is a greater value than convenience and time).
Of course, there is also the UPS factor. The local hub stopped the one shipment I tried to make (a return, that was shipped to me via UPS) at the desk. The fact that it was shipped to me via UPS, or that the shipping account was supposedly cleared for reptiles, didn't matter - they weren't taking it. If I can't walk in, drop my package off, and expect that it will get to its destination, it isn't a reasonable choice for me. I am sure that Robyn and SYR are working to minimize difficulties to make it easy for their clients, and safe for the reptiles. A couple of bumps were to be expected, and I think they've handled the ones to date quite well.

I got screenshots of the rate quotes I received for my shipment, WV to CA. It's not exactly $30, but pretty close. I get zero discount with FedEx, so the choice is easy for me since both are really easy for me to work through. I will, however, always ask the customer if they have a preference. If they don't, I'm definitely using the cheaper service.
