    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Should I take my snake to the vet?

Sorry didnt know where to put this at e.e, anywho, my snake has been making sounds! Its kinda like a coughing/sneezing sound that you can hear when your really quiet and shes near your ear and im worried that shes sick or something :/. She wasnt like that a couple of weeks ago and now its been about or slightly more then a week since this persistant cough/sneeze has started. Shes eating and drinking normally like she should, does it has to do with the enviroment shes currently in now or something? (My bf took her in for 3 weeks and this is week 3 about, and it just now started a couple of weeks ago if not more, im not saying he has lack of care with reptiles im just wondering if its the enviroment or the way hes taking care of her is causing it) should i take my coastal carpet python to the vet or wait it out?

I would suggest having a person with more snake experience check it out.

It may or may not be an issue.

Try contacting a member of the DFW Herpetological Society.

If the temps or humidity were too low at your boyfriend's house then that can cause an RI. I would go to a vet, the sooner treatment starts the faster your snake will get better and the less expensive treating it will be.

Carpets can be a bit sensitive to humidity as mentioned above. Too low and you can get a very light wheezing sound which usually goes away when humidity levels are corrected. Another possibility is that the animal is preparing to shed. It is quite common for some species to develop a bit of a click or wheeze when going into a shed cycle which disappears once the snake completes the process.
Having said all of this, I agree with the other posters. If in doubt, or you aren't experienced enough yet to determine if the condition appears to require medical attention, then err on the side of caution and take the animal in for a visit. Your veterinarian should be able to give you a better understanding of what is causing the condition, as well as help address any concerns you may have.
Best of luck!
