In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This is a question for all you guys that vend at reptile shows. Do you guys pack your animals into the deli cups the night before, or the morning of the show? The reason I'm asking is because I have to leave for a show on Sunday morning at about 3:00am. I figured it would be easier to get them ready the evening before. What do you guys do?
Thanks in advance,

Jason, if it is a one day show, I would say it would be ok to pack them the night before. I try to pack mine up as late as possible but they will be fine for the average length of even a week end show.

packing leos

For me, it all depends on how far I have to go for the show. For more local shows, I usually get all of the deli cups ready and labeled the day before and stack them in the same order the geckos are situated in their racks. This way I can put them in their designated cups very quickly in the morning before I leave. If I am going for a weekend trip and have to leave early, I pack them up the night before, and they do just fine!

This is a tough question to answer because there are many factors and variables that change from show to show. I live in Phoenix which has some pretty lame shows so I do mostly SoCal shows which require me to drive 6-8 hrs to get to. Due to the time constraints involving work and the long drive I built a "8 foot rack" with 6"x6" cubicles for the geckos that can be transported with the geckos in them thus enabling me to put them in the night before without too much added stress. The rack has 6 pieces (3 Four foot pieces on each side) that connect together to fit an 8ft table. It stair steps and has plexi on top that slides out (I am looking to change that to hinges though). I am not sure if I have any pics, if I do I will post them....

Did any of that make sense or did it just sound like ramblings of an insane madman?

Hey guys,
Thanks for the tips. The show is on Sunday and it's 4 hrs away, thats why I have to leave so early. I think I'll just pack them up the night before, they should be just fine. And by the way Gene, at first you did sound like a rambling insane madman, but once I re-read your post a second time it made perfect sense lol.
Take care,
