    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

hi,
I have a 5-6 wek old beardie who isnt doing well. i took it to the vet but he didnt have a clue. 3 days ago the little guys left arm turned kinda greyish up to the elbow and he lost function. then yesterday he was useing it a bit. today the grey discoloration has spred up to the shoulder and his right arm is affected. he has no use of either front leg. he is still eating but has become lethargic. any ideas as to what it is, whats causing it, or what to do?

thanks

there isn't a competent reptile or exotics vet in your area besides the one you went to???

this sounds like something a professional needs to take a look at and treat....

sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear, but best of luck!

i live in BFE and the nearest herp vet is almost 600 miles away. the vets here specialize in livestock ( cows, pigs, ect.) and consider hamsters as exotics. my vet trys real hard but is out of his field.

wow, i'm sorry to hear...that is a tough situation...(and i didn't mean to insult the vet you went to, sorry)

is there a possibility of maybe taking a picture of the infected arm, and maybe emailing, or faxing it to an exotic vet for advice? or maybe even posting the picture here would draw some attention from experienced beardie owners.

I just got my first beardie not long ago, and i'm sorry i can't be of much more help...

thanks for your help. my vet is talking to a friend in denver hoping he knows more. but it will be monday before we hear from him. im not sure my little guy can wait that long so i thpught it couldnt hurt to ask here.

Hi. Another option you may have is to try a local college if there is one closer. Many of them have/keep reptiles (biology dept. etc. ) , etc. and have a lot of knowledge to give and/ or may know someone who can help if they can't. Another place to try is any zoo's that are nearby. They always have their own vets and you may get some useful help or info from them.

Until then, just some suggestions.... keep him warm and hydrated. I would soak daily in warm water for 10-15 minutes. Be sure that ALL prey is of the right size, or smaller and dusted with calcium. (I did not mean to imply that you were not doing that already, sorry) Double check the buy date on your uv light and get a new one if needed.
There is another web site called dragontank. They have some really awesome people with alot of combined knowledge. That may also be a nother source of information. Good luck and prayers for your baby
