In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was just advised by a client that they found one of our photos being used to advertise a "1100g Female Mojave $ 450".

It is posted by Sierra73

This animal is a 100 % male (proven) and the picture was cropped to remove our watermark name. We did not authorize the use of this photo. We do not know who they are?

Who is the person that advised you of the ad?
Can you show some evidence that it is your image being used?
Have you contacted Sierra 73 about this? If so, what was her response?

I believe I sent a pm to the person about this advertised female Mojave. Questioned the validity of the snake due to the extremely low price. Never got a reply.

Im not sure if I was the only one or not but I told Lucky Dragon Geckos or atheris978 and made them aware of this. I was searching Fauna a few days ago and found the ad for the 1100 gram female mojave for $450 and I kept the ad up for a few days cause I was really really interested in her. Now as I usually do I was looking through the classifieds on Kingsnake and saw an ad for a male butter I believe, posted by Lucky Dragon Geckos and continued to look at what else they had by clicking "This category only" and the last one on the page was a male mojave and I clicked it and was shocked that what I saw was the same picture of the female from Sierra73. At that point it was obvious to me who stole the picture cause the one in Sierra73's ad is clearly cropped specifically to not have the name and numbers on there.

The original Ad on KS is long gone but I recovered a copy and it has three original photos attached. Exif data included.

I contacted Sierra 73 by email and we exchanged a few emails with quick response. We agreed upon $400 because that's all I had to spend do to some family situations. I made payment through PayPal and the snake should have arrived this morning but she said that it might be Thursday morning. Ill let you know if it shows up tomorrow or not. This was going to be my boys Christmas. The Paypal name came up as Jeffery McDonald

Stephen, any chance you sold that snake to a Jeffery McDonald?

If so then it would be safe to say he changed the sex and flipped it for double what he bought it for.

If not then Tito, I think it is safe to say your not getting the snake pictured regardless of sex. I don't know if they are planning on sending something else but I would move fast with paypal if you hope to recover any funds.

My guess would be the person isn't sending anything. New member, stolen picture, wrong sex, priced to sell fast, different name on the paypal account. Seems pretty obvious to me. IMHO

Could you post a screen capture of the different name from paypal for the record? The emails could be helpful too even if they are short.

I didn't sell it to a Jeffery McDonald

I checked our records when I was first made aware of this incident. Nothing matches... email, name, etc. All different.

I'm not sure if this incident is related, but several months ago, we received an email containing several of our pictures. The person advised us that the pictures were sent directly to them in response to a picture request. The original add did not have pictures in the add that was posted. Out of the 4 pictures they received, the sender forgot to crop out our name in one of them.
