In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Does anyone here feed silk moths to their leos? I find almost all the leos and fatties go nuts over them (Rhacs love them too, my gargoyles kill for them). I just don't know how nutritious they are since they don't eat once they emerge from the cocoon. They've probably used up all the goodies stored up during the worm stage and just have enough left to allow them to live a week or so as moths. Because of this, I don't use them as a staple diet, but make sure I give all the adult geckos a few as treats. The moths lay so many eggs, I only need a few to get all the eggs I need, the other 3 or 4 dozen become snacks.

Nice pics, it really looks like they enjoy the moths. I think to offer as much variety as possible is very good!

i agree. who cares if once in a while u give the geckos a treat thats not necessarily very nutricious? its more important to make ur geckos happy by offering a variety, bc a happy gecko will b a healthier more enjoyable pet. they seem to love the moths so i would continue offering them as snacks

I agree, the more variety the better, as long as they are fat happy leos they are getting good nutrition and adding some variety is always good even if snacks are not the best nutrional value, I wish everything I ate was good for me lol

OK how do they catch them ? ide love to see one of my fat Leos jump for food . LOL Great pics BTW

These silkmoths can't fly at all, the best they can do is flap their wings. After many centuries of selective breeding geared to silk production, the moths ended up with stunted wings and/or atrophied muscles that won't let them fly. Mind you they don't know it, and still try to fly. They beat their wings as fast as hummingbirds, making an audible sound but that's about as close as they get to flying. It's just a matter of the leo walking up and grabbing the moth. Wild silk moths can fly.

Those are VERY cool pictures. I have never seen a gecko eat anything except worms and crickets
