In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was wondering what the general ranges are for sizing feeder rodents. The rodentpro website has a size chart that lists the age/weight for each size tier of rodent. I've noticed over the past couple of years that even though I am buying from several different sources, the sizes have been consistent across the board.

The reason that I bring this up is that I purchased 100 rodents from a relatively new supplier over the weekend, and I feel that the rodents are undersized. Is there any sort of master specification out there, or does every producer have their own methods of sizing?

I don't want to be quick to jump all over this guy, nor do I want to add something negative to the BOI without first figuring out if each producer does their own thing, or if it was a simple mistake. Thanks for any input.

Seth, they do very between producers. How much undersized? It is always good to clarify before a purchase with someone new to make sure you are getting what you need. Does the breeder have a size chart posted? If not, did you clarify the gram size you needed?

Have you asked him about it yet? Maybe the order was mixed-up with another.

Thanks for the quick reply, Dennis. This supplier is pretty new to the business. He's got a website up and running but it doesn't have a size chart listed. All of the rodents are sized one step down- the larges were mediums, the mediums were smalls, and the pups were closer to pinks.

It might be his own method of sizing since he does not work with snakes larger than a ball python, but I wanted to see if there was some sort of standard method that rodent producers use to sort out their product before I contacted him about this matter.

It just seems strange that I have bought rodents from 10 different suppliers in the last 5 years in 3 different states, and all the sizes were the same.
