In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

While I completely understand, according to scientific classification and evolution Skinks and Tegus are closely related and are properly categorized together...

As a Tegu keeper, I seem to share more common denominators with Monitor and Iguana keepers than I do skink keepers...

Also, I feel that the lizard forums lack the activity levels to justify extensive segregation. I would personally be better served if Tegus were lumped in with the other larger lizards (Monitor and Iguanas) and skinks were allowed to fall under the "Other Lizards" heading.

Just sharing a users opinion... :)

At one time they did used to have their own separate forums, but lack of traffic proved to me that it was ridiculous to continue to waste space on them.

Heck, unless activity picks up in the discussion forums, I will likely just lump them all together under a generic Lizard Discussion Forum anyway..

I started setting up sponsorship areas for many of the discussion forums to see if that would give me a reason to keep them, but doesn't appear to be the case. :shrug01: So I imagine that one of these days I'll set it up so that any forum that doesn't have a sponsor will get the axe. I think that would be a fair way for me to determine which ones should stay and which ones aren't needed here.

After all, this IS FaunaClassifieds..............

I wasn't suggesting Tegus have their own forum...

I was suggesting we toss tegus in with the other large lizards (Monitors & Iguanas) and then move the skinks into the general lizards forum...

It's not as simple to do as you would think. If I'm going to do that much work, I will just make it easier on myself and combine ALL the lizard discussion forums into one forum. I'm looking right now and there are only ten viewers in all of the lizard discussion forums, and some of them are quite likely search engine spiders.

:shrug01: Just not worth worrying about considering how little they are frequented.
