In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I ordered snakes from him last Monday (9/1 - Labor Day) and he shipped them out on Tuesday. I received them at about 7:30am Wednesday morning well packaged and healthy.

They are very, very aggressive babies. He was feeding them mouse hoppers/fuzzies and I have 40% of them on rat pups now. The other 60% appear healthy but are not very interested in the rat pups. I will be getting some mice tomorrow with any luck.

The only problem with the receipt of these snakes - one of the spider females I received has only one eye. I contacted him immediately on the issue and he said on the next order I place with him he will add a spider female for free AND give me a credit on what I paid for her.

All in all, I am satisfied. The snakes were grumpy, sure, but many have warmed up to us. Some still look at us like we are gigantic mice that need to be eaten. Skip is VERY prompt in responding to emails and followed through with everything just as agreed.

Thank you for the business, Skip.

I look forward to buying from you in the future.

He sold you a snake with one eye and never said anything. Hum. What a guy!!
You might be lucky to get your Spider for free. And a credit for selling you a one eyed bp that he should have told you about in the first place.

Better look at his negative boi on here to see the type of person your dealing with.
Good luck and keep us informed on the matter.

In all fairness the group he was going to sell me initially had just fed and he asked me if I would wait another day or two. I said that due to my schedule I needed them to arrive Wednesday of that week. So he chose from another set so they wouldn't regurge.

I am not necessarily defending him, but by nature I am a very honest person and so far, my transactions with him have not shown anything truly negative.

Also, when the shipment arrived I was very busy and even while sexing the snakes and looking at the I didn't notice it.

Selling an animal with one eye at full price doesn't show him as a good seller. He either was negligent in thoroughly inspecting the animals that he was selling, or knowingly sent it to you making it your problem/responsibility.

If it was me, I would ask for a refund immediately, versus some future date/transaction.

Just my opinion.

This seems to be a common theme on what I would consider shady deals. If the customer wants satisfaction, they then have make yet another order with the already shady seller to get compensation. This is simply hooking the customer into a wait and see game. Sellers know that a good percentage of customers won't push the matter, give up or ever do repeat business with them to even claim their compensation.

If you are smart, you will get a refund.

Boy. It seems both Skip and Scott are unethical. Guess it is like father like son.

Wow ! How do you sell a snake with one eye ? Really ?!? That is terrible ! Op please post a pic of the spider so we can see the one eye. Also any proof the animal did in fact come from skip ? Invoice or anything that says you purchased a spider Bp. Not that I don't believe you. I have read the BOI. I have seen the terrible things he has done, but to be fair on both parties would like to see the proof. I'm really sorry about that. If that were me I'm sorry I'm not selling any animal with a deformity. I will find it a good home to someone for free. This animal represents me and my business. I'll be darned I send one out that has genetic issues and think my customers wouldn't have a problem. Wow ! sorry BOI... I just had to say that again.

I should perhaps ask one if the mods if this convo can happen here or new thread because I feel like its gonna turn good thread gone bad. Mods I do apologize for adding to this if it isn't allowed here.

So he decided to feed the animals you wanted yet not the ones he wanted to send you. Got it.

Let me address a few points here:

a) I ordered QUANTITY from him. He did not sell me a single or even a handful of snakes. ALL the other snakes are healthy now and ALL are feeding (including the one-eyed spider female)

b) Skip did not tell my that my only option was that. He did not force me to accept his terms. I was openly ok with his terms on the credit. I actually received better quality animals from him than several other people I have purchased from in the past.

c) This is a good guy thread. I don't care about the thread you referenced, Lucille. Yes, I understand what it means. Yes I do appreciate seeing that. No, it had nothing to do with my transaction with Skip and therefore is irrelevant. (Not that I am trying to be rude to you, as in quite a few topics I 100% agree with your arguments, but in this one I do not see it being necessary to this thread.)

d) Skip's exact wording to me in response to the one-eyed snake was:
"I know what you mean when it comes to reputation (if it was me I wouldn't sell her, I would give to someone as a pet to raise) as I said I will give full credit and replace her, maybe you know some little kid that would be tickled to have her."

Did he sell her? Yes. When I received her did he even question me or anything? No. I told him I wouldn't sell her as that puts my reputation on the line and that was his response. I have already found a home for her(for free) just letting her eat one more time before I let her go.

e) Samantha, I do have proof of it and a pic of it on my phone, but I don't feel it is needed. I am not making this a bad guy thread. I am not trying to "slander" Skip's name. I am merely offering up full disclosure on my purchase and it turned into this.

f) Now for the final point. I am satisfied with the purchase. The immediate response was "you should demand a refund immediately" but that would be silly given the number of snakes I purchased. She was but a small percentage of that total.

All in all, I feel a good guy thread is based on both the buyer and seller being satisfied with the purchase. He actually gave me healthier animals than I expected. None of them seemed neglected at all. None had mites. None were even thirsty upon arrival.

Skip has done well by me. I am sure if I would have asked for a different form of compensation, he would have agreed to it. I did not. I know that I will be ordering from him in the future.

So he decided to feed the animals you wanted yet not the ones he wanted to send you. Got it.

He had just fed them that day as I called him in the evening. The ones he sent me had been fed a few days prior. They all made sure to leave presents for me a few days after arrival. None of them were starved what-so-ever and all were healthy and rounded. A few were in the 70ish range but many were closer to 100g.

Let me see if I am reading this right. You say he is a good guy even though he did not inform you of and deformities when you bought these animals because they only made up a small percentage of the total purchase?

Well it kinda does. In my opinion flippers don't look for quality they look for quantity. So a flipper wouldn't necessarily really care for the quality of an animal ( eye missing, duck bill) its about the money aspect. So that's why I asked if he was a flipper. Because the quality of an animal that came in didn't really effect him the way it would someone like you or me. I would of been very upset.

Well it kinda does. In my opinion flippers don't look for quality they look for quantity.

I disagree with your premise, there are resellers at all price points and quality points. And some take very good care of their critters.
I do think even large batches of snakes should be looked over prior to sale, either by the producer or by the wholesaler.

Samantha, I am not what you would really classify as a "flipper."

I breed ball pythons, but I have a very high demand in my area. I do not just "buy and sell" snakes. I buy them from time to time to refill my numbers but I sell nothing that is low quality. That is why I was so pleased with Skip. For what I paid, I was scared to death I was going to get low quality, but I did not. One snake out of the ones I bought was hardly worth getting upset.

I keep everything I buy until I am certain it is worth selling. Anyone that has purchased anything from me knows I follow up with everything. I never try to dodge anything, I believe in personal responsibility.

That is why I don't feel Skip did wrong by me. I probably could have asked for a refund from him on her. I didn't feel the need to. I will reconcile it with him somewhere in the future.

Skip never once argued with me about it. Never tried to move blame. Nothing. He was straight forward about it and to me that shows responsibility. It takes a lot to admit a mistake and not try pinning it on someone else. He admitted the mistake and made an offer on how he would correct it. I agreed to the offer.

Lucille, I agree wholly on your point. However, I examined each of the snakes upon arrival and I DID NOT notice one missing an eye. She acted normally and would move her head to get a more clear look at you through her good eye -- thereby putting the other side away from you.

It is funny how Fauna is able to try to put other people on trial all the times while there is no problem at all.

I am sure if you stand back and look at my points you will understand where I am coming from. Get the predetermined verdict out of your minds and take an unbiased view of this.

This is a story gone right as far as I am concerned.
Seller makes mistake.
Buyer tells seller.
Seller apologizes and offers to makes amends.
Buyer agrees to seller's offer and is satisfied.
Buyer and Seller are both happy with transaction and live happily ever after. The end.

Regardless of what the amends are, provided the buyer is happy with them that is all that matters. I am not saying I am ok with a sub-par snake being shipped to me. But now I was able to give it to a little boy that had his stolen by one of his daddy's "friends."

Does quantity justify everything? No. But it makes it a little easier for me to forgive an error.

My name is on the line for EVERY snake I sell. As I said, anyone that has purchased from me in the past(I don't do a LOT of volume but I do sell locally a decent bit) knows that I sell nothing that is not healthy. I take pride in my snakes. I also like to increase my collection so each time I buy snakes it is an opportunity to increase it by trading or selling and buying.

Please don't assume all people are the same. Sometimes people make mistakes. That is something this world does not seem to understand anymore. People get angry too quickly. People would rather say "REFUND!" than "What happened?"

Why? I don't know. But I am allowed to make my own judgement of people I do business with and I am certain that I am happy with the outcome of this therefore this is a GOOD GUY thread. If you want to give him a bad guy thread then go ahead, but this thread is NOT one.

Thanks.
