    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Smallest Ball python i ever hatched...10 grams!

Yea. Not a good one either. We tried a assist feeding with a half pinkie. The little guy didn't take it and passed away two days later which was Monday. What a shame as I was going to make this one a house hold pet for my daughter

That's unfortunate...the little one couldn't have had much to keep it going at that size though.

that is cool. I had one had a nipple took up half the egg and little chicky made it I just fed her pinky mice but she took off in size now she is one of my best eaters. good luck

Sorry to hear that Brendon. I was really hoping that she would do great for you. :(

That is a real dummer. Don't let it get you down you did the best you could and that is all any of of can do.

Oh my gosh!! I did not realize I misspelled that word until this was reposted, I Meant to say BUMMER, Oh please forgive me!

Most of the last 10 posts have been about the fact that the snake died...

Sorry but good try. Some hope for the really little guys as this 19 gram male made it for me. He missed shed with the rest of his clutch but then ate a fuzzy mouse on his own and never looked back. Maybe the line is somewhere between 20 and 10 grams.

I know this is YEARS later...but has anyone heard of using a syringe to force feed the remaining egg yolk to 15g and smaller B/Ps or to lethargic hatchlings ? It seems that it would help if kept a sterile proceedure. I have a good "nipple" egg due August 13th, its 50% egg and 50% nipple (hopefully albino black pastel) and am just curious and looking for insight.

The problem with that idea is that the yolk is attached until hatching; and, in most cases, it is absorbed. I would recommend against trying to pull fluid out of the yolk prior to separation, as most babies do a better job than we could (not to mention the harm that could be caused in the process). If the baby drops the yolk, unabsorbed, that might be a possibility; but I would think that there would be a time factor for health/safety reasons. (I'd also probably obsess on the question What if there was a reason it didn't absorb?)

If one is determined to syringe feed a baby, is be more inclined to use a pinky slurry...maybe with a little NutriCal.

Over the years, I've become more accepting of natural selection...sometimes these babies simply aren't meant to thrive, and we aren't really doing them any favors.

Sorry for your loss but not really unexpected. It was probably underdeveloped inside as well.
