    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Kind of an odd topic, but I've been curious for a while.

What is it about cornsnake poop smelling so bad? All of ours are perfectly healthy and all have a vets clean bill of health. We've kept everything from corns to lampropeltis, pituophis, nerodia, heterodon, morelia, atbs, rtbs, balls as well as veiled chams, beardies and uros, etc. We currently have 11 corns and man they can destroy thier tubs! I know everytime I open the door to our reptile room if a corns tub needs cleaned. It isn't just one or two, all of them reak. We also have 3 balls, 2 carpets, a rtb, an atb and a beardie at the moment. Now granted every once in awhile the others will dominate thier tubs/cages and stink up the room, but they rarely have any smell to thier poops. So tell me, why do corns stink so bad when they poo?
 
Haven't smelled it yet, however, my buddy has a beardie and he says it stinks up his whole apartment. He has even gone as far as claiming jealousy. Haha.
 
man i can tell when one of my beardies go, and they are upstairs in a reptile room. wish i could give you more info on the corns but don't keep them. im sure someone will jump on and give you a hand though.
 
What the heck are you doing in the corn section, then? Haha. Cheers! There is bound to be a reason they stink. I've noticed my kings and bulls could be quite potent too sometimes. Why would they stink, but not my balls or carpets?
 
Corns should be just about as bad as a king or pit. They are worse than balls but that probably has more to do with the amount of moisture in the poo. Same reason you get more stink when they go in a water bowl than when they go on shavings. The more moisture the more that can evaporate and take the stink along with it. :shrug01:

My corns stink more than the balls, but they don't clear the room or anything. It is usually only barely noticeable until you open a tub. I did hear that feeding chicks instead of mice can add to the aroma, but don't know first hand.
 
Are some of them new. A change in food and water source can take a little bit to get used to. Just a thought. :shrug01:
 
I've had most of them at least 6 months. You are correct about the pits and kings. They smelled a bit too.

I heard about the chicks making it smell worse too, but I never tried it. They're doing just fine on rats and asf. No need to change.
