In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

For some folks, snacking means a piece of fruit or a bag of chips. For others, it means elaborate layered bean and guacamole creations, imported cheeses, and really flamboyant presentations with special serving plates and garnishes.
How do YOU snack?

IMO, snacks shouldn't require any preparation. I voted for cold pizza, fruit and cookies. Sometimes I eat cereal right out of the box. String cheese is good too, and so are crackers. I don't like chips though ... at all.

When it's just senseless snacking it's usually pringles or ritz crackers.

and YES I love Sushi

But my favorite food has been something I've had all summer....

Breakfast: Diet Vanilla Pepsi and Ritz Crackers
Lunch: A "Crunchy"
Dinner: I'm never hungry enough to eat it after a Crunchy!

My Crunchy's are the ultimate in snacking .... takes me half an hour or more to prepare, and up to two hours to eat. I love summer vacation!

For those who are interested:

Take one Golden, Red, or Orange Bell Pepper and dice... add to HUGE salad bowl

Peel and slice a cucumber, add to the salad bowl.

Open a small can of sliced or chopped olives... add to the salad bowl

Open a small bottle of marinated artichoke hearts, take out half the contents, dice, add to bowl

Take a handful of shredded cheese, add to the bowl

Take a small handful of sunflower kernels, add to the bowl

Cook and slice up some bacon, add to the bowl.

Slice some baby corn, add to the bowl.

Peel and dice an Avocado, add to the bowl.

Add some Poppyseed dressing, stir, and ENJOY.... and on the side... add some berry juice, diet sprite, and some frozen raspberries in a glass for a delicacy beverage.

YUM... all other snack food pales in comparison.

Life's sure been good to me. In "bad years" I can afford these salads only once a week at most... in good years, I can have them almost daily. I'm so glad it's a good year!

Since the only times I ever get to snack are on my days off I adore having something I love as a snack/lunch. I usually hit up the deli and get my favorite cheeses, buttercrisp crackers and then to the seafood section for some fresh oysters, cooked shrimp and/or scallops if they have any.

Then I go home, make up a plate, park my bottom on the couch, turn off the phone and don't answer knocks at the door unless I smell smoke and it's the fire department! :)

It's an hours worth of pure heaven for me and makes the rest of the day so much more enjoyable.

Great "different" snacks:

* Braunschweiger with mustard on crackers or toast

* Smoked oysters with swiss cheese on crackers

* Mussels (in red sauce) with havardi on crackers

* Vanilla ice cream with bananas, coconut, and pineapple

* Boursin with water table crackers

* Raw asparagus heads

* Dark bittersweet chocolate in any form

* Reeses Peanut Butter cups....all varieties

I have the traditional cookies/cakes/chips/popsicles, etc on occasion, but try to save those for the children. I buy things that no one else likes for me

* OH YEAH!!! Colby Jack or swiss cheese on buttered french bread BROILED till the cheese is bubbly and starting to brown.

I like bread type snacky treats, obviously.

Cookies or chocolate get me every time. I try to avoid buying any snacks, because I'm not home much, and when I am I want to avoid sitting at the computer and pigging out. :D I do indulge in one addiction every time I go home to the Quad Cities, though- Whitey's ice cream is the best in the midwest, and I stop by for a cone or a shake almost every time I'm in town.

I've always preferred fruit and veggies as snacks. When I was younger I used to eat fruit like there was no tomorrow. My Mom would go to the store and later that day she'd be like, "David, where are the grapes?" I'd say, "I ate them", then in disbelief she'd say, "you ate a whole pond and a half of grapes in one sitting?" If I ate a pound and a half of grapes now I'd be in the bathroom for a week.
