    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I bought this snake for $400 I was told it was a super dwarf platinum graniteback. He said she was bred last year but I don't think so cuz she's only 4' long. Help me out I'm new to the hobby.

If you told me the animal in the top picture was dead, I would wholeheartedly believe you. I can't help you much other than to say the retic part at least is correct. Good luck with this animal.

Do some research on humidity requirements.

Hey Jhiner - my comment came across as rude which was not my intentions.

Hope this thread answered your questions.

I know about humidity I bought her this morning and she was like that. I just need to know if she looks like the platinum graniteback he advertised and also if a superdwarf will breed at 4' long. He said she was 3 and has already laid a clutch but I'm not so sure now.

Where to start, oh were to start.

1st. a super dwarf platinum het anthrax(aka graniteback) would run, oh about $5000. A het anthrax platinum is going to run you about $850-1250 You add super dwarf in there, (industry standard is 50% to market it as dwarf/superdwarf) you double/triple the price.

2nd. while there is platinum anthrax's around, they're a $15,000 snake (at prehistoric pets). Breeding one to a female superdwarf would result in a marketable superdwarf platinum het anthrax, however it wouldn't be anywhere near a price range of $300 for a baby.

3rd. platinum anthrax's are a new morph. only made (at least announced to the public) in the last 2 years or so. There just isn't a way possible that a female superdwarf het anthrax could be 4 years old, have bred, and then sold for such an astonishing price.

4th. and most importantly, there is no way that retic, if ACTUALLY female, is 4 years old, and has bred.

It seems like you got a normal superdwarf with a serious shed issue.

I thank all of you for your input. I learned a very valuable lesson and and going to do research about this whole pricing and genetics thing. The snake breeding seems fun and I want to be apart of it. I have alot to learn and won't make this mistake again. The guy said he was going to give my money back. And just for the record I put her in my enclosure at 90* and 70 humidity and her shed is gone! So silver lining!
