    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am curious about other cultures and countries views of keeping reptiles. In the United States it is an accepted hobby, (except perhaps the keeping of hots, which has its own subculture but is not something commonly accepted by your run-of-the-mill American suburban family IMHO, which is why those keepers run across all sorts of laws and so on having to do with hot snakes.)
Additionally, those who keep the giant Burms may certainly get a raised eyebrow from part of the population. But little corn snakes and lizards are kept everywhere, huge chain stores like Petsmart and Petco carry herp supplies and sometimes a small array of snakes. There are reptile expos all across America.
What about elsewhere? Are there some countries and cultures where it is common, are there any where it is not? How are snakes and other reptiles viewed in other parts of the world?

ok....

that in my opinion is one of the most selfish, arrogant and idiotic answers i have have ever whitnessed. you are basically saying , as i understand it f- em, rape their countryall its indihonous reptiles and just be glad we have what we have here.

we in the US generally lead the rest of the world but it should be very important how other countries view reptiles not only for the PRIVELAGE to have some of these specimens at an arms length but also alot of the scientic work being done OUTSIDE the US to better the reptuile industry as a whole.

you do not seem to understand how CLOSE we could be to losing the right to keep these animals even here in the US and if by chance other countrues have a system set up that might have stricter guildlines yet allows them to keep their reptiles, we may eventually be looking to them for advice when and if the time comes
