In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Snakes At Sunset - Terrible Communication

Your blaming others for your own unethical actions is the biggest farce in this entire thread. He "forced" you to lie? LOL. Wow.....if you won't be buying animals for 10-20 years (probably another lie) then why are you even here? You're 26 years old.....start acting like an adult. Unless you're lying about your age also. Liar.

OH so you've never told a lie before Mr. Perfect? Shut the fuck up. YOU HAVE ALL LIED BEFORE (AS ADULTS!) Probably for much less a good reason.

I am only here to see what new and interesting things there are to see. It's like going to a reptile show. You don't have to buy shit to go. So yea, fuck you.

I don't see why everyone is picking on this guy for lying. A customer doesn't need a reason to cancel an order that hasn't shipped. He only lied because the vendor pressured him for the reason why he wanted to cancel and get his money back. He should have been refunded when he asked.

Thank you. Told you not everyone is going to agree with you High & Mighty people acting like you never lied before for a damn-good reason.

You all are being VERY generous with your wording...."pressured"....."forced me to lie"......all he did was ask why, and state they don't typically do refunds. Your ability to fabricate meaning is quite impressive.

Like I said he doesn't need a reason to cancel. I expect to be able to cancel an order for any reason for any product I'm ordering, especially for a live animal. He doesn't want it anymore, it hasn't been sent, so he should get his money back

The vendor simply asked why he wanted to cancel? There was no pressure.

If the seller clearly states "NO REFUNDS" then you want to cancel your order, then the seller has every right to ask why. Sometimes buyers/customers don't have all the info needed to make an informed purchase and the seller can absolutely ask why when they are requesting a breach of their TOS/policies.

He felt pressured regardless. I'm saying it shouldn't matter that he lied. It's really not important to the issue, which is poor customer service and communication

Asking why a customer is cancelling an order can help a business CATER to their customers. Any business that asks why someone wants to cancel is usually looking for flaws within their business in order to improve their methods and processes and it's not unique to the reptile industry. There is NOTHING wrong with asking why someone wants to cancel, it's called due diligence, and it is the buyer's discretion as to whether they want to disclose that or not, or in your case lie about it. You could have said that it wasn't something you wished to disclose and left it at that...then if he went ahead and took your money and sent you the animal anyways then you'd be in the right, but no, you don't get gold star stickers for being full of it and passing the buck. If you lied about something as simple as that that then it wouldn't be unreasonable to question your integrity, and that's something you are doing to yourself. So, there's you lying to the "bad guy" about a transaction, and then proceeding to make a bunch of claims you can't prove, then posting a bunch of links to claims of random third party people of which who knows the mental state/capacity of or the legitimacy behind those claims. You should feel accomplished, because it was a great read. :)

Stating no refunds in a TOS doesn't mean anything. It doesn't mean they can refuse to refund them

So I guess you're psychic, seeing as how you're able to know what other people feel? lol.

I have a feeling theres several people on this thread who need a "safe place" to retreat to when people don't talk to them exactly the way they want.

Why's everyone being so aggressive? I just don't see why you guys are attacking him the reason he gave for cancelling an order for not trusting the seller. It doesn't matter.

A TOS is not a legally binding document. You can't refuse to refund a product that hasn't been received

Now you are telling people what they can or cannot agree to? Sellers certainly can specify their terms.
If a TOS says no refunds/ store credit given, then that is they way it is. Some sellers will be flexible, and ask the reason, but they do not have to do that.

In reply to the mod note:

No I did not read through the rules here. If you all want to have stupid rules about not being able to link to external reviews, whatever. That's fine, I don't need this account and I am not a buyer here on this website ANYMORE.

Go ahead and FUCKING ban me :D

You should have to be 18 and over to order a live animal. And if an adult can't handle adult language, I Don't Give A Shit!

Goodbye everyone :D

Why, it will be my pleasure to grant your request. How does a year sound? Will that be enough time for you to develop a bit of maturity?

:out_of_here:

Refusing to refund someone because of a TOS isn't going to hold up in court. A TOS is a guideline as to how a business handles things, not law

You are incorrect. As long as the buyer knew of the TOS, it is part of the sales contract and ordinarily he is legally bound, those terms become part of the contract between buyer and seller.

Online TOS has generated a lot of interesting legal cases. If a TOS is never presented, even in a link, there may not be enough there for the customer to be bound. In some online agreements, there is a box to check where the customers says he has read the TOS and agrees to be bound by those terms. In that situation, assent is pretty clear.
But the very reason to have a TOS is so the buyers and sellers know when they go into a deal what the terms are.
