In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Sneak Peek

Not out yet but I made one mistake already with this project so I am going to be VERY guarded with the rest of it.

I don't normally like answering for people....and I definitely don't like stepping back into the middle of this one; but I think Steve's supposition is that the pair your received were visual hets...and that the 2 snakes you called lentigos were the super (remember - you didn't see Casper in the beginning - he was a very clean, light colored snake).
I don't know what is going on with these critters....and, frankly, at this point, I think it's a stretch for either of you to make any genetics statements beyond "I think".
I'm interested in seeing what these babies look like out of the egg.

Thanks Harald. I agree that it's too soon to start making definitive statements and I will refrain and continue to work the project (which I have been trying to do without further fanfare until I can definitely say something)

Dang..I didn't know what about the links, well..people can do their own research.

I am thinking that this works like the YB gene.
YB's are visual het ivories.
From this breeding, it appears that at least one baby is a cross. Carrying the traits of both parents.
That would imply that this is probably a codom.
It would make sense that the the 2 you bought produced a super if it is a codom and not recessive. You bred 2 visual "hets" and produced a super.
Same principle as with the YB's. They are visual hets that can create crosses and a super form when bred together.
More breeding needs to be done but from the looks of this clutch, I am leaning towards codom with a super form versus recessive.

Just to dig up some old embers - when you were talking with (I think it was) Greg Graziani about Casper's first clutch - he said they looked like __(insert name)__, and told you what to look for in the babies. I remember you being pretty excited about the conversations, but I don't remember the details. Was whatever he thought they were a codom trait? Or had it even been decided (I'm thinking it was something he was working on, but wasn't necessarily sure)?

Could be, but imo the hets that I originally produced did not have any "special markings."

Pastels have a definite difference from the Super Pastel and the Pastel is Het for the Super. I didn't find that difference in the Hets I purchased from Harald...but what do I know?:shrug01: I do know that the hets that I purchased looked exactly like Normals. Nice normals, but Normals nonetheless. IMO classifiying those "normals" as visuals of a super...don't jibe with what I saw.

Even YBs etc have differences...noticable differences..so your theory MAY be correct, but I don't see it at this time, and won't know till I breed this girl back to her offspring.

He had said it was most likely a codom and pointed out specific traits to look for. The "hets" have these traits. He was working with something similar at the time and had already proven it to be dominant at the time and he was going to be working on seeing if there was a super. It was a real surprise to talk to him on the phone about the original clutch. It's amazing what these big guys have under wraps. LOL. The hatchling pics I had posted online from Caspers clutch is what caught his eye and we had a really good conversation about these animals.
Still to early to tell for sure but going by what he and I spoke about, the fact that 2 of these seem to produce a super and that it looks like crosses can be made, I would go with this being a codom instead of recessive.

Look at the head.
You should see this black outlining. All of the original animals had it and the visuals have it.

They can be picked out pretty easily when they hatch.

If you got visuals, it makes sense that you got normals in the clutch too. Statistically you should have supers, dominant copies and normals in a clutch.
