    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So is Darkness really that bad?

i saw darkness last night . i was originally takign my mother to see polar express at the imax , but it was sold out . due to schedule times the only other movie ( at a nearby theater) that was coming on soon was darkness. so i made the collosal mistake of watching it . it ws a waste of $15 . its a really good premise , but a bad movie . my mother doesnt liek horror movies casue they give her nightmares . i think she slept well last night . they kept throwing in unimportant and unplot-related scenes , and any time anything scarey happened rather than keep it up and really make it scarey they immediatly jumped to anohter scene . basically this looks liek a really good movie at 5 hours that was cut down to an hour an a half or whatever it was . it was bad . :scatter:
 
Yeah your review is pretty much what about 30 other viewers said on the Yahoo movie site. Well Shaun of the Dead is on DVD. I know that's a great movie.

Except that particular fox was Jennifer Love Hewitt.
 
Well I went and saw White Noise this past weekend. Should have known, for this type of movie, to see a PG13 rating was a bad sign. It sucked! And was in no way scary. Also the way they showed how EVPs are recorded is absolutely incorrect. Static on the radio is not used to pick up EVP. Recording devices such as a microphone is used. Usually a question is asked and then the recorder is quiet. Voices are not easily picked up on radios or car radios like they are in that ridiculous movie. Also I've never heard of seeing dead people on static television. WTF! Uugh I could go on....
Here's a question for anyone who unfortunately saw this movie. What the heck exactly were those three dark figures? Demons?

i agree ..what a huge dissapointment,,it felt like it went from one thing to another over and over...

the figures were infact supposed to be demons, first clue was what the guy who did the EVP'S has written in that journal, the titles of the Evp's.."pig" "bastard pig"..ect..signs of demons
 
I was also eagerly awaiting this movie, when I saw it, it was hard not to walk out. Since I heard this movie was coming out I did a little "research" on EVP and it's fascinating. And the movie couldn't have gotten it more wrong. I don't understand how they can put out something so inaccurate when the correct way to record EVP is just as scary and "cool" as the BS way they had it in the movie!!

So many parts of the movie were just left there. Like, was his wife really helping him or were the Three Stooges just leading him there because he was threatening their existance. And if Micheal Keton's dead woman was helping him, why didn't the other blonde chick's dead fiancee not help her? And to kind of repeat the other questions, why didn't they get into who and what the three shadows were? And they're obviously not defeated, so now we might be in for a crappy sequel to a crappy movie. And they never get into who the human "bad guy" is, why he does it, how many times he has done it.

Also, it was a sad ending. Very sad. Well since the "bad guys" weren't defeated it wasn't an ending.

Up until the last minute Micheal though that his wife just died in an accident. Now he knows she was tortured to death. Systematically injured. How the. Arg.
 
Let us all pray there will be NO sequel to this movie..... :bandhead0
......And I think they got there television static influence from the original Poltergeist. Great old movie......
By the way did either of you see the trailer for Amityville Horror? Let me correct that, the new one coming out. Yep another one. I've read the story (still not sure if it was made up or not) about the family. And am I wrong, but it looks like hollywood added some stuff to this new one?
