• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So what is off topic, what is enough?

Threads topics that are blatently not related to a given forum become so much clutter, rather than valid contribution (to the specific forum).
If there are no topic demarcations than not only do the forums become disorganized, but the site starts to take on the environment of "grade school" discourse. Sloppy, selfserving and confusing.

Just my opinion.

Sloppy. Self serving. Confusing. "Grade school".
Well. I will have to ponder that one for a bit. Because, I guess I just do not see how posting pictures of my sons in the Leo Forum, would be any of those things. But I dunno, maybe I am sloppy, maybe I am self serving, and I certainly am very confused. I have no earthly idea what "grade school discourse" means, so I will not comment on that one.

Kelli, first of all I never mentioned YOUR name. I did not mention ANYONE'S NAME. If a person chooses to identify with my stated opinion, then that is that person's perogative. I did not even mention any particular thread or posting within a thread. I simply added MY OPINION on the TOPIC because I have one. No fingers have been pointed by me.

"grade school discourse" in this instance means "like adolescents, childish".

Fantastic, I love a good discussion! Am I not allowed to state my opinion though?

Whether you were referring to me or not, I was/am a part of this discussion, and nay will I ignore it.

Peace

wow, its nice to see that at least one of my posts has become famous ;)

Don't you mean Infamous? LOL

I gotta agree with the rules. There seems to be a forum for everything here. Including a General BS forum where it states pretty much anything goes. If you wanted to post something off topic and share with your friends, than why not the link? I see links to other threads all the time. JimO posted one in this thread. I doubt it would have earned anybody warning points.
Like said, it holds it back from those who might have actually been interested, but will never see it in the gecko forum.
