Enclosure: Outdoor housing whenever possible is the best way to go. I have caught this individual on the basking ramp on more than one occasion. I have it set up in a small stock tank with lots of plants to ensure the water doesn't get too warm. This species handles cool temps but I wouldn't leave it outdoors if your winters are harsh.
Diet: Feeding on cooked Tilapia, cooked Turkey, mosquito larvae, tadpoles, live mosquito fish fry, bloodworms, blackworms and reptiworms/calciworms.
