Why is it that every person who takes in unwanted animals is suddenly a "non-profit organization"? Do people not understand that a non-profit organization is a legal definition, and requires a designation of such from the IRS?
Something about seeing ads from these people actually soliciting for animals (and, hmmmm, the same types of animals that they BREED and SELL, although certainly not the rescued ones!) just makes my blood boil. Maybe because I know what true, certified, licensed animal rescue organizations actually go through in order to do their jobs, but for whatever reason they just torque my tookus.
There seemed to be a new flurry of these "ads" in various forums today, so it got me wound up.
I feel better now!
