In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was at my friends pet shop hanging out he got busy and this guy asked for help/questions with a redtail boa, so i decided to lend a hand. He was w/his two sons and 1 of there friends( kid's ages were appox 8-12). Among other reasons why i said to this man what I did.... first of all he had no idea how to start to care for it.....his KIDS told him what to do (spoilled lil' brats)...but here is what set me off...He asks..."When I'm done w/the snake ....what do I do with it , let it go outside?.........or what?" i said "excuse me?". He replies you know when the kids get board of it or I don't want it anymore what do I do w/it? So the sensitive people person that I am I said to him " I don't know why don't you ask your Mom what she did with you when she didn't want you anymore"....I walk away he says "excuse me.....? I still have Questions" I reply "NO.....YOU DON'T"....he says "oh oh yes I do"..... NO YOU DON'T! and i walk to the front of the store ....he followed and paused at the counter I pointed to the door and said keep walkin' the doors only a couple more steps....so he left, with all of his teeth (because his kids were present) and my friend said "your HIRED...lol

Hey Carl, I am sure you were well meaning with this but in my opinion it wasn't your call to boot someone from your friend's pet shop. In my own experience I never get upset with anyone's questions regarding herps no matter how absurd. Admittedly this one was way out there, however, your friend may have handled it differently and it is his/her shop.

Your probally right, thats why i don't work there and I'm not in a "People Person" business.
It just got to me when, in front of his kids, one of his first ques was.....can i just toss it outside when I'm don w/it......we live in CHICAGO...........it gets like 30 degrees below here..........People like that just get to me. It just sucks.

P.S. your are right though.......

He also, the guy with the kids, to ask in advance what to do with it when the kids got bored.

Most folks don't think that far in advance.

Maybe you should do something about anger management and maybe thinking past YOUR personal views and ponder what a newbie might ask and why.

I think you made all of us look bad today.

It's one thing to tell an absolute idiot off the way you did, but it appears from you telling of events, that he really wanted information.

Oh well, next time maybe you'll do better.

By the way, the process by which a female is rendered incapable of producing offspring is called spaYing. SpaDing is what you do in the garden.

You might want to work on the vocabulary along with the attitude.

OK if that was the case then i would agree w/you, but it wasn't like that AT ALL. He was very arrogant and condescending....not concerned about the animal at all, it could of been a toy, horse,or Buick for that fact. never asked how to care for it just what to do w/it if it happens to out live his kids attention to ease and problems he might have in the future. As for my "anger mngt" .......it was like a figure of speech I'm not an angry person, but thanks for your concern and your opinion.
Thank you for the vocabulary mistake, I over looked it.

Hope to be friends,
Carl

Maybe you couldn't looked at it from the angle that you might've gotten a free snake soon! lol It sounds like his kids were going to get bored with it pretty quickly, so you could have offered to take it off his hands. Of course you run into the possibility that it would've been poorly taken care of, but now it's completely possible that they just headed to the next nearest pet shop and bought one anyway.
