    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Nice looking snake! Makes me long for the days when large constrictors were legal here (I just know I would have a purple albino!)

So i take it there illegal where you are ?? im in uk the only thing you cant have unless you have a licence is venomous snakes

Here in the US, some states (and many more localities) have passed legislation prohibiting many snakes. In some cases, it is by species, and the big guys are always the target. In many though, the random "safe" size of 6 ft is named, which very effectively limits one's selection. Cross carpet pythons off your list...heck, I've had black ratsnakes that big.

That is a shame, you guys in the US have some many snakes to choose from not like here in the UK where we are behind like most things!!!!!!! I find it very hard to get good CB retics or even WC thats why when I seen this little guy had to get him. The animal rights over here are trying to put a licence on snakes over 10ft not sure if it will happen will have to wait and see. So can you not even own snakes over 6ft will a licence or is it a total ban?

That depends on where you are, lol. I live in NY, where the State prohibits green anacondas, retics, Afrocks, burms (and Indians), and amethystines; as well as many monitor lizards. There was a "grandfather" period, in which anyone possessing those animals could get a permit to keep them (but could not obtain more; breed, or sell the ones they had). If I remember correctly, the permit fee was per animal and assessed annually (so it could get pretty expensive). I am uncertain if there is a process allowing one to get a permit to obtain new animals...recent efforts to contact the licensing unit have gone unanswered.
Crocodilians and venomous reptiles were already regulated & required a permit prior to passage of the law affecting large constrictors - I am uncertain how that has been affected (if permits are still attainable. I do plan to continue my efforts to contact the licensing unit, so hopefully I will be able to update this soon.

I must admit tho the people goverment here are also really slow at replying for an application for a licence but they also do there very best to put you off!!!

I actually used to be on very good terms with the licensing people in my state. I had a fairly extensive venomous reptiles permit, as well as an endangered species permit. My attempts to contact them are largely for information, but (I must admit) I find it frustrating to not be able to just walk up to the office and speak with somebody. I tried that about a year ago...got stopped by a security guard posted near the door, was directed to an office that had nothing to do with what I wanted, and was told that I couldn't go upstairs to that office. (I still don't know what all of that was about, and I made no further efforts until a week or so ago)
