    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Something I didn't notice last year.

Last year I had no idea how to tell if my females were ovulating. This year I was able to tell. I was also told that even while they are still developing their first clutch they are already starting the next clutch. Now, is that what I'm seeing in this girl. I have four that look like this and three that just started ovulating, and two more I'm waiting on. The rest of my females won't be breeding till next year or very late this year.

Looks like shes ovulating to me, and has eggs :)

I have a question about the pictures too, I placed 2 arrows pointing to 2 different spots in her stomach. Which arrow is pointing to the object that tells you she is ovulating? I always see the smaller one in my females, but that bigger one in this pictures has me confused.

That's a good question. I thought it was the larger one that is the ovulation. I guess I'm going to look at the other three now....ooops maybe two, one of them laid eggs this morning! :)

OK, I just looked at all four girls. Three still have eggs, but all four show both the little dot and that pinkish/red area. Which also seems to have smaller pea size eggs developing in that area.

I just emailed the picture to Kelli, hopefully she can help. I beleive one of the spots (Probably the smaller one) is her gall bladder and the other is her ovaries. We will find out for sure.

A all the way! LOL The small black dot is an organ I beleive, and the large pinkish dot shows she is ovulating.

So does this mean we are passing Geckos Sex Ed 101?

Ok, according to Marcia:

"the second arrow (A) is pointing to an egg follicle forming (ovulation). The little dark area (arrow 1) is her gall bladder"

Wonderful pictures! I wonder if this could be made a sticky or something...Felicia, would you mind if I used this picture on my website in the future to show ovulation?

I can never seem to get my females to bend back that far to kinda "squish" everything up to see it really clearly. They always bite me ;) Little punks. So If i kinda see a pink area, or white blotches they go in with the male and I cross my fingers :) hehe.

I've had a few request for use of this image on sites. I have no problem with anyone using it, but please give me credit for the picture and PM me letting me know that you are planning on using it.

This female is one of my most laid back females. She is just a sweetie. She's actually in the lay box right now digging away getting ready to lay those eggs. During that picture she didn't move at all and I had my niece take the picture while I held her.

Our Leos are VERY used to us, so you may not want to try this. But I can pick them up by the tail, just enough, to get them to 'strech out', and it makes seeing it a whole lot easier. Just kinda lift their...um rear, and let the front feet touch something, like your hand. They dont usually get too excited, or try to snap off their tails in this way.

LOL!!!! Delicately put!!

That is how I do it, my only problem is I can't get a good picture of it, they always turn out like a great white blur :ack2:

I have some fiesty females, I'm not sure I'd be able to do that without them wanting to drop their tails ;) However I do sex Beardeds in this fashion, pushing the tail over the back with their hind legs up. It's easier to view them that way! :)

GroovyGeckos i noticed this als. I have very chubby gecko and while holding her upside down i saw nothing, but when u was releasering her into her moist hide and her back feet were still on my hand i saw eggs, ovulation and all that good stuff.
