    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have a standing order with Southern Cricket, but nothing showed this week. I would have assumed that the crickets were lost in mail, except that two colleagues were also expecting crickets that didn't show up, and attempts to contact the company have failed.

Does anybody know of any recent problems Southern has encountered (weather, family tragedy, etc.) that might account for missing shipments? Is anybody else missing shipments from them?

I got my shipment right on schedule last week. I have used southern for almost 6 years. I have tried several other companies throughout the years, (promise of lower prices, better delivery etc) but I have always gone back to them.

i bought from them several years back but i soon quit using them.... i drew the line at having brown recluses arrive in my cricket order... not to mention they came in with ALOT of other bugs and they didnt live very long
 
I too have used Southern Crickets for years. I have never received a bad shipment, dead, bugs or anything. They have always answered my calls, emails etc. They were even prompt to contact me once, when they had a problem with my credit card. They always ship me the crickets and charge my card several days later, which I find rare for any company.
My shipment arrived right on time last week. I always receive my shipment through DHL, never by mail. The only thing I noticed it that the auto responder did not confirm my order and DHL did not send notice that the crickets were on their way.
I believe they are only shipping out Monday through Wednesday, orders I have placed after Wednesday ship out the following Monday or Tuesday.
You might want to try the 800 number again and email, they have never failed me yet.
I have tried other suppliers, but they are still my number one choice.

I havent ordered for several months, but I have tried everyone over the last 8 years, and southern cricket is my favorite. They do occasionally encounter late arrival, but this is the postal service's issue. The crickets are always clean, healthy, and there is a very generous overcount.

I would reccommend them to anyone, and as for the late order, if southern cricket cant track them down, chances are good they will be replaced.

the only thing I don't like about this company is they don't tell you the cost of shipping until it's at your door
 
I have ordered from them twice in the last 2 months. 1st shipment was a day or two late , this last order, I e-mailed them when it was 2 or 3 days late,no response. A week later they called me( something wrong about my credit card) fixed the problem got my crickets the next day. I'm now back to ordering from The Bug Co. which is right here in Minnesota anyway.
