In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

my beardy has had random spasms for about 2 days now... i know that this can be a sign of metabolic calcium def. I have also heard it can be a nuerological problem ... has anybody ever had experience with this? or does anybody know if this could be a problem brought on by low heat?

How big of prey are you feeding? Feeding to big of food can also cause this.

Jim.

about the size of his head... but the past couple days i have down graded to about 3/4 the size between his eyes...

You dont want the crickets any bigger then the space between their eyes. Youve done the right thing by giving smaller prey. They try to eat just about anything.
Have you ever seen anyone put their fist in their mouth? Imagine them swallowing it!!

Hope everything works out.

Jim

he actually is having full body spasms now... its terrible and heartbreaking to watch... is there anything else you can tell me? ... i tried to take him out in the sun for awhile possibly for more D3... and he just defecated... so i don't think he is backed up... i also thought maybe i am not gut loading my crickets correctly... could this be it ?

Have you been giving him proper UVB and D3? If you havent you need to. It wont fix itself over night though. It will take some time. Does your dragon do it all the time? Does it do it more when you handle it?

Jim

how often do i give him calcium and d3 on his crickets i have been doing it twice daily, but i heard not so often from some and daily from others

Hello

Hello,

Calcium with D3 should be given 5 times a week. Two times daily is really too much. That alone can cause overdosing of D3 & too much calcium will cause constipation. What type & brand of supplementation are you using? Does your calcium have phosphorus in it?
What type & brand of UVB are you using? Is it a flourescent tube bulb or a compact or coil light?
The feeders should be smaller than the space between the eyes to avoid impaction. How large was his stool? Did it have much urate to it?
What are your temps & how do you measure them? Do you use a digital probe or a temp gun?

Tracie

i use repto-cal... and i have a flourescent light with UVB and UVA...its i think "rep light"? ill double check that... His stool is about 2.5 inches and yes there was urine... i keep it about 90-100 in his cage at basking and 72ish at the other

Hello

Hello,

Please do check your UVB light, ok? If it is not a reptisun or a reptiglo then I highly recommend purchasing another one. Any other brand at the moment, is not good.
The temps, do you measure them with a digital probe or a temp gun? I would suggest basking temps of 95-110 to help improve his behavior & metabolism. The cooler end needs to come up some as well, to 78-82. What size of tank do you have?
What brand is the "repto-cal"? The Rep-cal is the best type, it has no phosphorus. Check the label on your supplements, to make sure it has no phosphorus.

Tracie

Hello

Hello,

Ok, the reptiglo, is it an 8 or a 10? Is it a flourescent tube bulb or a compact or coil type of light? How far away from him is it?
Ok, the supplement is fine. It needs to be used 5 times a week, ok? He is growing & needs the calcium.
How are you measuring his temps?

the kinda of calcium and d3 sup. i use is reptocal by tetrafauna...

In addition to the above advice, I would also recommend using a calcium supplement that does not contain phosphourus. ReptoCal is not the best choice. I would go with RepCal with D3.
