Sirengarg
Keeper of Iffy Creatures
I have two purebred cats I need to rehome. I am not going to lie, we are having trouble with them urinating all over the house. Both have been checked for UTI and I have tried every remedy every vet, groomer, expert, cat owner, etc has told me. Tried a new box, new litter, Feliway, etc. I have two options, cage them for life or rehome them with someone who may have better luck than I. I adopted both these as rescues, I have tried in vain to find their original breeders, as sometimes breeders will take back their own animals but cannot locate them.
The thing that kills me is this started over a year ago. My cousin, her 4 psycho kids, and 1 psycho cat moved in. The stress of them living there for nearly a year did it. Their cat sprayed all over the house, prompting my cats to do so, plus her kids and cat would terrorize my cats, especially the Persian. They finally were kicked out, but it didn't stop the urinating. I moved to a new house and they have destroyed the carpet, we tore up the carpet and now they are using the couch. I really don't want to pass my problem to someone else, but I don't see what else I can do. I am 3 months pregnant and the ammonia smell in my house is dangerous for everyone, especially my developing baby. Maybe someone here has had good luck with retraining cats or knows someone who can. I CANNOT ship. You MUST be local. I live 30 minutes north of Daytona Beach, willing to travel and meet you halfway from your town.
Satin: Sphynx, 6 years old, spayed and declawed. Good with cats, kids, and dogs. Loved to cuddle and be petted. INDOOR ONLY, outside will KILL her. She is a high maintenance, but still easy to care for. Bathed once a week in Kenetic Emu Oil Shampoo and ears cleaned as needed (as much as several times a week).
Lace: Persian, 5 years old, spayed. She is white with blue eyes, but she is NOT deaf. Good with kids, dogs, and cats. However, she is not a cuddly cat. She has never struck anyone with her claws or bit, but she will wiggle away from small children trying to hold her. She is shy with new people. She is use to being groomed and bathed. I give her lion cuts now and then. She doesn't like it, but never lashes out. She is a doll faced Persian, meaning her face is not pushed in like a Pekinese. The "normal" Persians with pushed in faces tend to have breathing problems. Lace does not, she plays and doesn't lose her breath. INDOOR ONLY, she has never been outside and frankly she is a bit of a blonde and I'd think she'd do something stupid that would get herself killed.
Can be adopted separate or together. I need them adopted ASAP. I really don't think he would but my boyfriend sounds ready to surrender them at the local shelter, which is a kill shelter. If you can, know someone who can, or know a no kill rescue who would adopt them, please contact me at 386-864-5116
