In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Spotted and Childrens

hhmoore,
Thanks for the heads up! I think both clutches have shed twice and they seem to be getting lighter (in color). I had a few more eat and I'm sure I'll have some holdouts who will wait another month. It always suprise me when they wait that long.

Are you offering live or f/t?
I had no access to live pinks, so I had to wait til they took f/t off tongs (they wouldn't go for the ones just left for them...needed the movement)

Admittedly, I was getting pretty close to forcefeeding them - that threat might have been the thing that finally got them going, lol

I've been offering them live pinkies and will switch to frozen asap. I think about 7 ate the second time and the other 12 have not been interested. I am not worried about it though. Now if they go any longer then another month then I might be. They hatched the beginning of April.

I just got a spotted and it hasnt fed yet.. the breeder said within the next 2 months it should feed. somtimes they take up to 4 months to eat. I can find basic care info but nothing on this issue. we tried offering a pinkie saturday and she wouldnt take it. we were going to try again this week. any advise on the subject?

make sure it has water available, and try to be patient.
I know that you are probably looking for something encouraging, but patience is what it takes. I've only dealt with a few clutches of babies, but they all started on f/t pinks (off long tweezers). Like I said in a previous post, it was like a switch got flipped at somewhere around 8-10 weeks...most of them started feeding within that two week period, but a couple took just a little longer.

Don't worry too much unless it seems to be losing weight

Thanks.. She has water available theres a dish big enough for her to go in in her enclosure. but she hasnt gone in it. the person we got her from, well actually my fiance got her from, because we havent had the luck finding any said they arent that hard to get feeding but these were a month old.. and hadnt eaten yet. I do have a weight on her. so i can monitor if theres a loss.. I guess we will just keep trying then. I have never bought something that had never eaten before. so this is something that has me worring. :)

I have a 20 gallon long tank right now that shes in.. I was told that would be fine. shes not even a foot long right now. its about 85 on the warm side and 72 on the cool.. shes been going back and forth between the 2 sides.

:) its not easy.. but its what I had avalable.. I also have a 10 gal i was thinking of moving her into. might make it easier. at least until she grows..

My roomy has 6 Children's. Those little buggers are fierce feeders. I guess they were picky when he first got them, but you'd never know it, now. I'm sure yours will have their "little switch" turn on, soon.

Hey Ed,
How are you making out with yours?

Thanks for asking! I think they are just over eight weeks now and I only have a few that are still holding out. I don't think they'll be any serious problem though.
