In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

HEY,

DO A SEARCH BEFORE YOU ADD A NEW POST WHEN THERE IS ALREADY A TOPIC.

EXAMPLE:  THE SHAWN SKILLINGS POST, TWO PEOPLE ADDED NEW POSTS WHEN THERE WAS ONE ALREADY GOING.

I know everyone wants to tell about there great dealings, but use common sense and see if there is a post already going.

Thank You,
Torie Miller

Torie is correct.  The original design of the BOI envisioned having a single thread about each person or business, with people all adding their experiences as needed to this one thread.  That way anyone interested in that person or business would only have to locate that single thread to find out everything they needed to know.

I'm not sure this is still listed in my rules, since a lot of things have happened since the original version of the BOI.  But a little common sense may be in order.  At the very least, there really is no reason to start another thread about someone when your simply adding a new message to an existing thread will cause it to float up to the top of the page.

And believe me, I certainly have better things to do than to have to delete a handful of messages each and every day because of one rule violation or another.

If the original thread happens to be a long one though, the post may not all be read. I for one don't have time to read through 20 or more postings that some of the topics have. By the way there are nicer ways of getting a point accross than insulting people. "why don't you use common sense" Common sense should tell some people that it is Richies job to police this board.

well for  1  thing

torrie  u seem to  place comments where ever  you feel to   even if your not involved  in any which way or form

but   NO OFFENSE RITCHIE  but i beleive torrie to be wrong

in your foots steps   on words you phrased in the past richtie

that  the BOI is a place for members to come and post their thoughts ( GOOD OR BAD )      about a person they have dealt with  and you yourself proclaimed  the phrase on herebefore in other threads     FREEDOM OF SPEECH
well   i think   if someone chooses to post their  comments where they choose    is up to that person
i know for a fact  as  kim said  i wont be reading a post  that has 20 pages  on it  just to post my dealings  with someone   cause we all know it wont be read
BUT I THOUGHT THE OBJECTIVE FOR BOI WAS TO POST OUR DEALINGS   HERE   WHEN WE DEAL WITH PEOPLE
well  i dont remember seeing anywhere that they all had to be on the same post
Ritchie u know i have nuthing against you  and i know u have nuthing against  me
(least not that u have brought to the surface )

but  forcing people to post their comments  on 1 post  isnt   in my opinion    any kind of freedom
and it seems to me it defeats the purpose
as long as all the rules have been followed ritchie  you dont have to go through and delete anything    so in fact unless they dont add their name theres no reason for it to be deleted  ...  so ur just making more work for yourself   ..
i was under the impression that BOI   was for that very reson for someone to post  what  expeirence they had with someone    this is the first in all my time coming here that i heard  that everyone had to post it under an existing   thread   (unless it delt with  the situation at hand ) example  SNAKEPIT BURGLARY    ... now i would see your point if there were multi listings  for that
cause its the same people over and over
.... i dont know    maybe its just me  but  each person i deal with   should get the  respect and   notice  of haveing it posted on its own

thanks
shawn

Webslave = Rich Z =  not me
Ritchie = Ritchie Luna = me

Two DIFFERENT people
Two DIFFERENT names

please do not confuse us.

Webslave = owner of this forum

Ritchie = NOT owner of this forum

Webslave = believes in Freedom of speach AND the second ammendment

Ritchie = Believes in freedom of speech as well as the second ammendmet.

Webslave =  has to pay for bandwidth caused by people making mutliple posts on the same topic

Ritchie = has to pay absolutely nothing towards this forum.

Common sense and proper organization of information does not equal the end of free speech.

They show how many pages are in a thread and you can jump to the end of you like. If I'm spending $250.00 on a chameleon I'll read through 20 pages of 20 posts to make sure I don't lose $250.00 (course I'm very protective of my money  <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>  ).

Even basic human rights must be exercised in a structured manner.

Is it freedom of speech that is really the problem here or the fact that we just don't like being told sometime where we can exercise it. For many different reasons we as responsible people have to practice restraint sometimes in how and where we use our basis freedoms. In this case you have a place that has been freely made available for all people that have information and opinions that fall within the BOI structure, to post freely. The only problem that I see here is that it's personal preference that's raising the questions, not the fact that you're being told you can't post.

Plain and simply: In order to make this board managable both structurally and financially there are certain rules that have been set forth by it's creator. Lets repect both the rules and the creator by doing what he asks and not start using personal preference under the guise of lost rights to try to cause any more problems then have already surfaced recently.

Just my opinion folks.

I understand everyones individual "points". My only problem with this is that the original post from Tori was very rude and as far as I am conserned it is not her place to tell others where to post. That is the job of the Web Slave. Posting in all caps is the same as yelling and I just did not appreciate the underlying "tone" of her post. Post like that from other people besides the webslave  himself are not necessary and just stir up trouble, but some people like that I suppose.

   Just my Humble oppinion.

I don't think that Torie was wrong in posting what she did. I feel that she was not obnoxious about it at all. I think a good example of it was the second post about Shawn Skillings of the Viper House. There was a good guy post and then two posts above it was a separate good guy post. Those posts had to be made within a short period of each other. And Rich has stated on his other forum that he appreciates the help and suggestions that we give each other. His "real" job is not this forum at all, it is his cornsnake business. Right now is a very busy time of the year for him, and I know that other times of the year he has a lot of chores to do concerning his "real" job. He did post right below the original post that Torie made and he did not seem upset about her post. Just my opinion.

first off sorry ritchie    i knew the difference  but  i dunno why i typed    it that way   so sorry for any confusion

i  as well understand the points made  ,  and i do understand the costs    but unless   its a rule   that has been made from begining  and i  dont  ever remember  seein this specific rule   its not fair to people   to have it told to them      without notice
if its a change that wants made then fine  post that theres some changes
make people aware  but dont  just sitthere and tell me and others  cause its a good guy post  and  theres another below       that it should have went there and because it didnt   then its getting deleted
myself     respect the rules of this  forum   and have  always done my best to make sure i back  em up
but its up to the person  that posts  those comments to make the choice   of what is best      and by deleting the items  you hurt  me or the person its  about   not the person who did it  so im being punished for others actions  how is that fair to me <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>??

well i know this forum is alot on  rich but     hes known for a while  this was gonna be a headache  and he still pursed it  and beleive me i am grateful he did    but it must be fair no matter what ...

RICH u know guy i luv  ya  for going through all this to give us a great forum ...

Shawn,

I don't think it's a big enough deal to be a "rule" or an "attack on the constitution" <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

I think it's just a matter of keeping things organized. How many breeders are there? times how many transactions a day? Talk about information overload. <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

Plus you snake people have a lot of drama in your lives. It's hard for us simple lizard folk to keep all the soap operas straight if you make multiple threads per show  <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">i  dont  ever remember  seein this specific rule  </td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>

Case in point: The Bill Cagle and IBD thread. Do a search. That specific topic matter branched out into, if i recall correctly, at least 4 other mini-threads. Webslave locked down all but the original thread. And specifically stated that everything from that point on regarding B.C. and IBD was to be specifically posted in that thread alone. So yes, somewhere there is a rule regarding multiple threads about 1 topic/person. I would post it here now, however I am just not in a good enough mood to search for it. Maybe tomorrow.

A question for you, Shawn. Out of my own idle curiosity. Ok, the most recent double topic postings were about you as the subject. Correct? Ok, all Torrie was saying was there was already an existing thread about you right below the new one started. And why not post it there? The first thread was about a good experience with you. So why start a new thread about you as a good guy? Isn't that quite redundant? Why not post in the existing thread saying "Yeah. I just had a good deal with him too. He is a good guy."? Do you need that much advertising? Do you need to keep your name at the top of the list? This is how I see it from the outside looking in. I am not trying to start a war with you. I believe I am asking legitimate questions. Just like you, if I have something to say, I say it. I am curious as to why the overreaction (IMO) to this on your part? How is asking people to combine subject matter to save space an attack on our freedom of speech? I look forward to your reply to my questions. Once again, this is not an attack on you. It is merely my curiosity. Choose to take it how you will. Take care and have a good night.  <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

If I might interject for a moment...

The rule about multiple posts has been in effect since the early days of the original Board of Inquiry. This rule, in no way, infringes on anyone's speech.

Torrie's point is essentially a good one, although I probably would have been a bit more subtle about how I said it  <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>.

Kim, it is everyone's job to police this message board. Rich is an extremely busy man, and he relies (to a degree) on the members of this board to moderate themselves and occasionally remind one another of the rules.

Shawn, while you might feel that it is unfair for Rich to delete a post about you that should have been posted as a reply to an existing thread, it is also unfair for Rich to bear even more of a finacial burden than he absolutely has to. As of the time I'm typing this reply, there are 942 topics on this site, occupying 32 pages.

I could definitely rationalize someone posting a new thread when the existing thread is buried on the 28th page, but not if it's only two topics down on the main page.

Additionally, it has ben my experience that a post with 20 replies will generate far more traffic than 20 individual posts. People want to see what's behind all that discussion.

Finally, bear in mind that multiple separate "good guy" posts can actually work against you, as they did in one of Jerry Tubbs' many escapades.

Ok,
First off I in no way infinged on the freedom of speech <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>
Kim, read it again I said to add it to the thread that was already there, not to say it at all.  I do not feel I said anything wrong and if you took as that then oh well, can't please everyone.
Shawn, if your so quick to say we all should be able to post anywhere, then why are you telling me I shouldn't post cause I wasn't involved in the first place. GOOD ONE!!  Plus, of course you disagree with me the posts are about YOU! <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'>
I am just trying to say look at least to see where or if the previous post stand, in essence use common sense.

Thank You,
Torie Miller

ok  first off   in my opinion  its not a multiple post
cause its different    each time regardless whats said causeits different people  ( i dont know maybe its my weird thinking) who knows
2
no i dont need that much advertisement  but it dont hurt  to have it <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>  <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> ( and i wont  refuse it)
3
well i may have overreacted  if so i apoligize  for that
but  it still remains  its not my fault who posts what and  where  so when its deleted it hurts me  cause i can always use  any good reviews  cause im still small  time  compared to alot
4
it was pointed out to me in a personal email that it was a rule thats why i brought up the rule thing and i havent seen a rule that said  all good guy posts  must be under 1 heading
and those u talk about  like Bill cagle   thats a disscusion  topic (a saga or soap opera)    yes that needs to be all on 1   mine  is a review topic   so its up to who posts it how they post it   thats where im talkin about freedom  things  ..
and if it gets deleted   it  hurts  me     cause its something   that could make a good deal for me to fall through  ( not gonna happen i hope ) but the fact is there
but  yet i wasnt the 1 who posted it  so  u gonna take my comments off  ?? even though i didnt post it cause its not attched  to an existing thread??

my  reviews are far  from the soap opera  sagas   that go on
until now i guess ..  and  truthfully      it costs more for that post  on  the burglary    and   conway  and bill then  my  lil ol   reviews  ..
those are the soap operas   ..

this didn't go through the first time for some reason, so here I go again....

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Ok,
First off I in no way infinged on the freedom of speech
Kim, read it again I said to add it to the thread that was already there, not to say it at all. </td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>

No, You need to read the posts again. Where in any of my posts did I say anything about freedom of speach. <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>
I simply said you were rude and the way your post came off was uncalled for. Some of us are tactful and some are not. <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'>

Kim,
I will not argue the subject with you.  You don't like it, fine then don't post anymore.

As to everyone else thank you for trying to see the point I am trying to make.  I feel that we all have to do our part to make the BOI a great one.

  Again, thank you.

Torie Miller
