In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Steps To Become Fedex Certified!!!

I am finally in my last step in becoming certified. I have submited my 'legal' paperwork, and it is under review, and i should be good to go by monday. It was a painless process, especially since i have an awesome rep who calls nearly daily to update me. Heck, she even set up a plan where I am already getting 25% off, and 53% off if i ship more than 5 packages a week (i am doing about 10 a week now).

Sorry missed your response way earlier hhmoore. It was accepted in the sense that my test box passed their requirements. After that they filled out papers for their legal department (which I sent out this week). I have had some problems with connecting with my training lady. She missed 3 appointments when she was suppose to call but my rep stated she had heard that person has been sick so she is going to try to set me up with another lady (the training is to set it up so you can print your own labels at home etc... I guess). I believe I can still ship without that training I just have to do the label stuff at my drop off place.

I don't know what training you are referring to (I didn't get any training). It is pretty simple to do the shipping label at home...it pretty much walks you through the process. If you have a problem, drop me a line - we can hook up on AIM or Messenger and I will walk you through it. (there may well be some fine points that I haven't figured out, though...like I said, I didn't get any training)

Finally got certified!!

I just finished the whole process and as of today I’m good to go for shipping reptiles. The whole ordeal from start to finish only took about a month which was what I was hoping for. For the most part everyone I dealt with was quite pleasant and really took the time to help and get all of it accomplished.

After reading through the entire thread again this morning I’m curious about how those of you who have been approved and have been shipping for some time would rate their experience thus far with FedEx and also how many are shipping to residential address and if that problem is still setting people back.

Only asking due to the fact that this topic hasn’t been brought up in quite some time and I would really like to hear if their has been any progress regarding this problem.

Any Feedback would be great!

Thanks

We haven't had any problems so far. All packages delivered by 10:30.. some much earlier in the morning, and most of them to residential addresses.

I tried to skim through and find this info with no luck. Do you have to do a certification for each size box you want to use, or will this cover all your packages?

We use the same type of box but in 3 different sizes, but had only one size tested. I don't believe every size needs testing. Keep in mind that only new boxes should be used in order to be sure of the integrity of the box. Also... with the bigger boxes we use thicker insulation to provide extra support.

I called the testing department today just to verify and you are correct if you use similar packaging you do not need to have other sizes tested. He also said exactly what you quoted above, just make sure and use thicker insulation on larger boxes. :)

Fyi

I just began this process myself...and I don't know how the rest of you did it, but it's not possible(that I have found anyway) to get a live person on the phone by calling the 800-GOFEDEX number supplied.
I ended up calling the live animal desk and had the person there find out who my local rep was and give me that persons number directly.

If you just print out the application and send in your box, the paperwork you receive back from testing has your reps name and phone number on the sheet. :)

Anyone planning on doing this in the future, don't wait till the last minute to get started. My package test was accepted and I am waiting on legal. I have been "waiting" on legal since the 6th of July. Come to find out, there is only one person in the legal department that can do the paperwork. Guess where he is, vacation. WTF, if anything happens to this guy I guess we're screwed.

Problem,

This link http://fedex.com/us/services/expres...ging/tips.html, thats supposed to take you to some form to fill out and send in, is NO Longer available. Can someone please post a new link as to where this form is at and what needs to be filled out. Wish i knew what the paperwork that link directed to was, so i could've just searched for it.

I don't know if I have a link, but I have the application...shoot me an email and I will send it to you (or you could just ask your rep...the process is a whole lot easier if they are working with you, vs you trying to do it on your own)
